Nish Panesar (Navin Chowdhry) is back to his scheming ways in upcoming EastEnders scenes, and his actions leave Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal) in shock.
Suki escaped her abusive marriage to Nish last December, and she has made no secret of her feelings towards him ever since.
Despite this, Nish recently confided in Nugget Gulati (Juhaim Rasul Choudhury) that his dying wish was to have Suki by his side when he died, after being given just months to live.
Although, this doesn’t seem all that likely as things stand.
When Suki and Eve Unwin (Heather Peace) begin to plan Vinny Panesar’s (Shiv Jalota) surprise birthday party in upcoming scenes, they make it abundantly clear to Nish that he is not invited.
Of course, this isn’t going to go down well.
That very same day, Nish catches wind that undercover police are digging into his chicken shop business, through which he has been laundering money, and he is quick to come up with a cunning plan.
Unbeknown to Nish, Suki and Vinny are currently in the midst of a plan to inherit all of his assets when he dies, which has so far involved Vinny sucking up to him in the hopes that Nish will leave him everything.
Following Nish’s conversation with Suki and Eve, Vinny makes an emotional plea for Nish to come to his party, and his genuine emotion gives Nish second thoughts about his own plan.
At the party, Suki gets quite the shock when Nish showers her with compliments about her parenting, and Vinny is later touched by a heartfelt gift from his father.
However, when Suki catches a glimpse of it, she warns Vinny that it must be another one of Nish’s attempts to buy his family’s love.
Are Nish’s motives innocent, or is Suki right? Should Vinny be wary of Nish?
