Emmerdale aired a surprise departure for Moira and Matty as the pair left the village to visit Adam Barton but Cain Dingle and fans of the ITV soap shared the same worry about the farmer
Emmerdale aired emotional scenes for Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) on Wednesday (October 30) as he struggled to say goodbye to his adored wife Moira (Natalie J Robb).
The mechanic was shocked when Moira confirmed she was leaving the village with her son Matty Barton (Ash Palmisciano) to visit her other son Adam (Adam Thomas).
Moira has been diagnosed with a brain tumour which is causing debilitating symptoms including seizures, confusion, and memory loss. So when the farmer told her husband she was leaving, Moira thought she had already told him.
Trying to reassure Cain that the break away will go smoothly, she confirmed Matty would look after her and all her medication as she revealed that she needed to see Adam before her brain surgery, which is due to take place at the end of next month.
Fear swept across Cain’s face with the prospect of a more permanent goodbye on the cards if Moira’s operation don’t go according to plan.
Later, Cain gave the farmer his support and suggested she took as long as she needed before the pair hugged.
Moira told her husband: “I’ll call you every day”, and Cain replied that she “better have”. After an extended hug, Moira and Cain shared several kisses before heading for the door, with Cain set to wave her off with the boys.
But Emmerdale fans have also been left fearing Moira will take a turn for the worst and die while she is away.
Taking to X, one Emmerdale fan wrote: “What is this goodbye? They better NOT kill Moira off-screen.”
A second stated: “#Emmerdale yea so Moira’s having seizures & blackout’s but is going abroad in a trip to see Adam. They won’t kill Moira off, not even the Emmerdale writers are that stupid, oh wait. #Emmerdale.”
A third pleaded: “Keep Moira safe at all costs #Emmerdale”, while another added: “Cain is struggling with Moira’s plan.”
Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7:30pm on ITV and ITVX
