Fans of the ITV soap have been sent wild
Emmerdale fans have been sent wild as a major return has been confirmed. It was teased on Tuesday (September 17) that Mike Parr is on his way back to the ITV soap as Ross Barton.
The news appears to have been revealed in a video posted to Emmerdale’s Instagram and X accounts. A clip showed Bradley Johnson, who is known for playing Vinny Dingle in the Dales, can be seen wandering around the Emmerdale building looking for the returnee to give them a “massive Emmerdale welcome”.
The actor is then seen going on a major search of the press office and the makeup and costume departments but he is left completely oblivious to the fact Mike has appeared secretly in the background of most of the recorded shots.
Captioning the post, Emmerdale wrote: “Brad’s on the hunt for a returning cast member… but who is it?! #Emmerdale @itv @itvxofficial @wearestv.”
And fans went crazy for the news. @oohsodanielle said: “ROSSSSSSSS OH MY GODDDD. EMMERDALE YOU HAVE DONE AMAZINGLY WITH THIS ONE.” @harrisfamily321 commented: “Please please please be true!!!!!!!!! Yes Ross!!!” @jillemmersonbell wrote: “Arghhhhhhhhh Ross omg fantastic.”
@sophie.siddall1111 replied: “Omgggggg it’s Rossssss.” @lexi_floral_fanatic shared: “OMG!!!!! I love @mikeparr226. So pleased to see him back.” @cherflet typed: “Omg Ross!!!!! Best day ever!!!” @xjeankellyx added: “Yay this makes me so happy. Ross is back @mikeparr226.”
Emmerdale fans will recall that Ross left the village alongside Rebecca White for a new life in Liverpool back in 2018 after five years in the village. During that time, Ross faced a whole host of hard-hitting moments, including becoming the victim of an acid attack after his ex Debbie Dingle hired someone to rough up Joe Tate and they got the wrong man.
Ross also still has links to the village as he’s the nephew of Moira Dingle, who is currently facing the news she has a brain tumour, and also father to Charity Dingle’s son Moses.
