In upcoming scenes on Friday’s episode, Yasmeen Nazir tells her granddaughter she’s been offered a job working for a charity in London
Coronation Street fans will see Yasmeen Nazir leave the cobbles next week after 11 years.
In upcoming scenes on Friday’s episode, which is available to watch on ITV X, Yasmeen tells her granddaughter, Alya, that she’s been offered a job working for a charity in London.
In a further twist, Yasmeen drops the bombshell that she wants to sell her share in Speed Daal. And sadly spoilers for next week see Yasmeen depart from Weatherfield after 11 years.
In the upcoming scenes, Yasmeen reveals to Alya that she’s sold her half of Speed Daal as Alya shakes hands with her new business partner. Later, Yasmeen and Alya share an emotional farewell.
It was announced earlier this year that Yasmeen star Shelley, 69, had quit the ITV soap and had filmed her final scenes in December. It was reported that Shelley is hoping to explore other opportunities after a lengthy stint on the cobbles.

A TV insider told RadioTimes: “Shelley spoke to producers early last year and advised that after 10 years on the show and being involved in many major storylines during the past decade, she had decided the time had come for her to explore other opportunities.
“Shelley is an accomplished stage and television actress and we fully understand her desire to take her career in another direction after 10 years playing the same role.”
Meanwhile, amid Yasmeen’s exit, it appears Alya is going to find herself in a feud with the new Speed Daal owner. In the upcoming scenes, trainee solicitor Alya arrives at work and is furious to discover that the menu has been changed.
Ripping up the new menu, Alya attempts to stamp her authority on her new business partner but how will they take it and will things run smoothly?

Taking to Twitter, now X, viewers have been predicting who will take over Speed Daal as one person said: “With Yasmeen leaving the Street soon, the stage is set for Leanne to take over Speed Daal and drive the Bistro out of business. #corrie” to which a different account replied: “Leanne and Nick and Toyah will be rivals…”, another put: “My god. I thought this too. Restaurant wars” while a different fan added: “Now there’s a thought.”
Soap watchers will recall that Leanne Battersby has been left scorned and bitter after her fiancé Nick Tilsley left her for sister Toyah Battersby after the duo had an affair.
With Leanne trying to get revenge on the two, could she be the new owner of Speed Daal and will she go against the Bistro which is owned by Toyah and Nick?
Coronation Street is on ITV1 at 8pm on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and on ITV X and STV.
