Moses Dingle plays a key role in tonight’s episode of Emmerdale as Ross Barton makes his return to the Dales
Moses Dingle will play a key role in a new storyline – as Ross Barton returns to Emmerdale.
Moses is the son of Charity Dingle, and fans have seen him taking more and more of a role during the recent storylines with Charity. When Charity killed Chloe’s father in shock scenes at Christmas, Moses and the family have had to grapple with her new life and her struggle with post-traumatic stress disorder. In one scene, as she battled with her own feelings of guilt.
He will also take a key role in a new storyline with Billy’s underground fighting. During last night’s show, it was confirmed that Ross Barton is back in the village as Mike Parr reprises his role.
In scenes already available on ITVX and set to be broadcasted on TV this evening, Moses is stopped by Mack and he sees Billy fighting with his dad Ross Barton, leaving him horrified and angry at Billy.
Moses is the son of Charity Dingle and Ross Barton, and he arrived when Charity was in prison for perverting the course of justice. This makes Moses the brother of Debbie Dingle, Ryan Stocks and Noah Dingle – who are Charity’s other children.
Mike made his return to Emmerdale in scenes airing last night, and he teased trouble ahead on his return to the village.
“Ross is an unsavoury character, and it’s always going to be a bit of trouble when he comes back. But Billy gets himself involved in some unlicensed Bare-Knuckle boxing, and this is where Ross Barton makes his return,” he warned.
However, one thing is that he has maintained a good relationship with his young son.
“He wants to be in his son’s life, but because Ross had such an inauspicious start in life with his mum – I don’t know if you remember, we did the storyline where it turned out that she basically tried to kill Ross when he was a child,” he said.
“So he’s just riddled with traumas, and Ross is the kind of person who can’t get out of his own way. And there’s a quote ‘Under peaceful conditions the warlike man will attack himself’. And I think that’s really Ross’ mind frame. He can’t handle quiet times because he’s just such a traumatised person that he’s always looking for conflict because he doesn’t know how to handle peace.”
*Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7.30pm on ITV1 and at 7am each day on ITVX.
