The big day has finally arrived, and while it is often full of celebrations for many, others hope to settle down in front of the TV when the evening comes around.
Luckily for soap fans, they won’t be without their usual fix as Emmerdale as they’ll be transported to the fictional Yorkshire village on both Christmas and Boxing Day.
And there’s finally set to be good news for Belle Dingle. After her abusive ex-husband Tom King was recently imprisoned for his abuse and coercively controlling behaviour, Belle will be seen at her dog Piper’s grave and admits to Vinny that she never saw the body of her beloved dog following her death and was suspecting that Tom may have been lying about what happened.
Belle asks Vinny to get a shovel so they can see for themselves and having dug up the grave, Belle and Vinny open Piper’s coffin to discover her body isn’t inside. Later, Belle considers visiting Tom in order to find out where Piper is but on Christmas day, Belle visits her dad’s grave and she’s overwhelmed with joy when Piper runs over to her, having been found by Vinny and Gabby Thomas.
Emmerdale fans will be able to watch the emotional scenes unfold on Christmas Day (Wednesday, December 25) at the earlier thime of 6.30pm and like last year, it will only be a 30 minute edition. There will also be an episode on Boxing Day (Thursday, December 26) at 6.30pm which will fill its usual hour slot.
There’s also set to be drama in the Dales this Christmas as Kim Tate set to be centre of the action this festive season as she prepares to renew her wedding vows with Will Taylor. What she seemingly doesn’t know is that Will has been conspiring with her financial advisor Peter to bring Kim down once and for all.
They’ve since reconciled and have been planning to renew their wedding vows on Christmas Day. But all isn’t as it seems as Will is still conspiring with Peter, but they have been trying to change their plans after Kim invited Will’s daughter and grandchildren back to live with them after she got Jai Sharma to kick them out of their own home.
However, it’s now been revealed that an accident on Christmas Eve will change everything. Viewers will see that Will is uncomfortable when Peter arrives at Home Farm and piles on the pressure for their Christmas Day plans. Meanwhile, a happy Kim sets off from the stables on a Christmas Eve ride.
But soon in the fields, Kim’s horse wanders alone, her rider nowhere to be seen. Driving down a country road, Will’s concerned to see Kim’s horse but no Kim. He’s then alarmed to spot a body lying still in the adjacent field and having rushed over, he finds Kim unconscious on the grass and immediately calls 999, all thoughts of revenge dissipated.
Having realised how much he loves his wife, Will’s aware that he needs to pull the plug on tomorrow’s plans but Peter has other ideas . Emmerdale fans will then be treated to a flash-forward which takes them back to Home Farm and as eerie Christmas music plays, Christmas Tree lays on the ground and evidence of a struggle surrounds it. In the present day, Will and Kim are preparing for their vow renewal, but will it go according to plan?
