Coronation Street’s Billy Mayhew actor Daniel Brocklebank has teased a final heartbreaking twist
Speaking to The Mirror and other press, Daniel revealed what would be “Billy’s worst nightmare”, as he revealed Billy’s inevitable heartache about spending Paul’s final night alive out drinking instead of being with him. He said: “It’s the fact he’s spent Paul’s last night on Earth in a bar somewhere, instead of at home.
“[He could have been] snuggled up with him, falling asleep next to home and then waking up next to him, all those bits in between.” On the possible tragic final twist that Billy might not be found in time, the actor said Billy would blame himself if this did happen.
He spilled: “He didn’t want to go out at all, he’s been at home with Paul now for months and I think he’s concerned. Billy is a complete control freak, so if he can’t see what is happening he is constantly worrying what could be happening.
“It would have been an arm twist to get him to go out. [If he doesn’t make it it would be his worst nightmare]. He promised Paul he would be there for his last moments.” Spoilers reveal the race will be on to find Billy and get him to Paul to say his goodbyes.
Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and ITV X.
