Georgia Taylor celebrated New Year’s Eve with some of her Coronation Street colleagues last night. The actress, who plays Toyah Battersby on the ITV soap uploaded a polaroid picture of her and Julia Goulding, known for portraying Shona Platt.
Captioning the post, the soap star said: “Happy new year from me and my sister from another mister @julia_goulding #plattersby.” Georgia’s onscreen counterpart, Toyah, has been at the forefront of one of the soap’s leading storylines.
After beginning a relationship with her sister Leanne’s former husband, Toyah had been working hard to keep the relationship under wraps. When Leanne grew suspicious the pair were caught out and have since been at the centre of revenge plots at the hands of the betrayed sister.
The revenge plot took a sinister turn when Leanne herself found herself being arrested for fraud before Toyah decided to help her sister and managed to get Nick on side to try and persuade DS Swain to drop the charges against Leanne.
The newest post uploaded by Georgia has resulted in fans speculating about the future of Toyah Battersby and her relationship with Nick. One fan responded: “Happy new year Georgia!! Toyah gonna join the Platt family in 2025!”
Another responded: “Thanks for some great entertainment and looking forward to 2025 story lines”. Others just wanted to wish the pair a Happy New Year with messages including: “Awww HAPPY NEW YEAR 2025 to you and the entire Corrie cast. Hope you have a really good one there as well.” Another added “Happy new year both hope it’s a happy healthy one keep smiling.”
Actress Sunetra Sarka, who has appeared in a number of TV shows such as Ackley Bridge and Casualty said: “Happy new year you gorgeous being xxx”. Georgia responded: “love you tart xx”
