With Sonia Fowler’s (Natalie Cassidy) court case concluding in tonight’s episode of EastEnders, fans of the BBC One soap have issued a plea about one of the guest stars.
Sonia has been in prison ever since she was arrested for the murder of Debbie Colwell, Reiss’ (Jonny Freeman) wife.
In reality, we know that Reiss actually murdered Debbie by smothering her with a pillow, but the cowardly man has let his partner take the fall for the crime.
Among the people watching the court proceedings take place is Brenda (Nichola McAuliffe), Debbie’s mum.
Audience members of the show have now become completely obsessed with the character, who has delivered intense stares at our Son whenever they’ve been in the same room together.
Taking to social media platform X, users are now desperate to see more of Brenda and honestly? Same.
‘The look of glee on Brenda’s face is subtle, but I can see it in her eyes. This is her moment!’, one person wrote.
‘Obsessed with brenda’s evil glare’, another wrote online.
This user simply said: ‘Absolutely obsessed with the menacingly cruel Brenda.’
Sonia was found not guilty in the trial tonight, meaning she’s allowed to return to Walford.
Yesterday, Reiss rushed into the court room at the eleventh hour and presented the video confession, claiming that he’d been sent it from a guilt-ridden Bianca (Patsy Palmer).
Unfortunately for him, Sonia’s solicitor advised that it could take months for the CPS to find the evidence admissable and a retrial would have to be scheduled.
Resorting to more desperate measures, Reiss confronted a member of the jury and told her to watch the confession. His plan worked.
Sonia’s friends and family persuaded her to come to The Vic for a celebratory drink as a free woman, where the conversation soon turned to Bianca. Sonia desperately wanted to see the video, but Reiss claimed he no longer had a copy.
Later that night, he snuck off to the lockup to tell Bianca the good news – but also told her that he couldn’t trust her not to seek revenge. She would be forced to spend the rest of her days inside the container.
Sonia was struggling to comprehend that her sister would commit a murder, but Reiss insisted that she must believe that she’s a murderer.
She said that if that is true, she needed to find Bianca herself and discover the truth.
