There is danger ahead for DS Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) in Coronation Street when she is called to a major incident in upcoming scenes.
The detective sergeant recently returned to work after being suspended, having been a suspect in Joel Deering’s (Calum Lill) murder case.
When it became apparent that she had been set up, Lisa was reinstated and dove straight back in to work as she tried to get to the bottom of the attack on Carla Connor (Alison King) during the recent factory robbery.
Having made things official with the factory boss, Lisa makes plans to treat her to a romantic lunch, but it is interrupted by an urgent call to an incident.
Always in work mode, Lisa rushes off, leaving Carla bewildered.
Wanting to know the ins and outs of Lisa’s sudden exit, Carla confronts her colleague, DC Kit Green (Jacob Roberts).
But before Kit can tell her anything, he receives an urgent call for back up.
It doesn’t take long for them to realise that the call has come from the same address that Lisa rushed off to…
Later, Carla is horrified when Lisa returns home with a bruised face and split lip.
The detective is quick to assure her that she is fine, but in need of an alcoholic beverage.
Determined not to let the events of the day ruin their New Year’s Eve, Lisa and Carla head to the Rovers, and during the countdown to midnight Carla lets slip to Lisa that she loves her – but how will Lisa respond?
The next day, there is no rest for the wicked as Lisa gets stuck straight back into work, determined to get to the bottom of late wife Becky’s murder.
With Matty Radcliffe (Seamus McGoff) having hinted at knowing more about her death after a recent interrogation, Lisa confronts him in the precinct and demands to know where he was on the night Becky was killed.
Things only get worse for Lisa later in the week when she finds Betsy Swain (Sydney Martin) ushering Mason Radcliffe (Luca Toolan) out of the flat, having slept with him.
After demanding to know what’s been going on, Lisa catches up with Mason and shows him pictures of the crime scene from Becky’s death, revealing that his brothers were driving the car that killed her.
Mason is genuinely shocked, and soon sets about searching Matty and Logan Radcliffe’s (Harry Lowbridge) flat, with Dylan Wilson (Liam McCheyne) keeping lookout.
Later, the lads arrive at the station and present Lisa with a World War Two helmet from the flat. Could this be the evidence Lisa needs?
