Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) struggled to keep the secret of Keanu Taylor’s (Danny Walters) murder for months in EastEnders, but after going to the police last week, she can’t keep it to herself anymore.
Linda stabbed Keanu to death on Christmas Day and, with the help of the rest of The Six, managed to frame Dean Wicks (Matt Di Angelo) for the crime.
However, things took a turn at Dean’s trial last week, when Dean attempted to prove that he had been framed by confessing to raping Linda in 2014.
With the whole case having fallen apart, Linda went to the police and confessed to murdering Keanu, but changed her story to keep the other women out of it.
With the police reluctant to believe her, Linda then revealed all to Bernie Taylor (Clair Norris), with the rest of The Six arriving to back up her claims.
In tonight’s episode, Linda finally confessed the truth about Keanu’s murder to mum Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe), who was about as supportive as you might expect.
Elaine was completely horrified by the sudden confession – as was Johnny Carter (Charlie Suff), who had insisted Linda say nothing given that Bernie had gone to Germany without speaking to the police.
Determined that she should be punished for her crime, Linda revealed that she planned to give Elaine full custody of Annie and Ollie, in case she ends up in prison.
Elaine was taken aback and insisted that she had too much to deal with already without taking custody of her grandchildren.
Of course, Linda didn’t take this very well, and soon the mother and daughter erupted into a slanging match, which resulted in Elaine storming out.
Though Johnny was determined to keep his mum out of prison, he pointed out that she could face seven years behind bars for covering up the crime.
Will Linda really have to give up her children and prepare for a prison stretch, or will she be allowed to finally put the past behind her and move on?
