Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton) is set to face her worst nightmare in upcoming Coronation Street scenes when son Frankie is rushed to hospital.
Lauren gave birth to Frankie prematurely after being drugged by abuser Joel Deering (Calum Lill).
Having groomed and attacked Lauren, he knew that the baby could link him to his crimes, so he came up with a plan to give her pills that would induce an early labour.
Thankfully, Frankie survived, and Lauren eventually found the courage to expose Joel’s abuse, ultimately leading to his arrest.
However, things took a shocking turn for Lauren when she killed Joel with a rock to protect Max Turner (Paddy Bever), leaving her whole future with Frankie in jeopardy.
In upcoming scenes, Max takes Frankie out in his pram, and they soon bump into Dee-Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown) and two other people.
As Max introduces them to Frankie, he is shocked to learn that they are Joel’s parents, Gus and Anthea.
Following the chance meeting, Gus and Anthea organise a chat with their solicitor, but quickly wrap things up when Max and Frankie arrive.
When Max takes them back to No.8, he pops upstairs, leaving them alone with the baby.
However, disaster strikes when he returns downstairs to find them gone.
Later, Lauren is beside herself when she learns that Frankie is covered in bruises and has been rushed to hospital for tests.
‘Instantly Lauren thinks Gus and Anthea have done something to set her up,’ actress Cait Fitton explained. ‘She can’t even think rationally because she just thinks something sinister has happened so Lauren will lose Frankie forever.
‘Lauren’s looking for someone to blame and I think Max will get the brunt of it because he should never have taken his eyes off of Frankie for even a second when Gus and Anthea were visiting him.’
Is Lauren right to suspect Gus and Anthea, and will Frankie be okay?
