Ken Barlow (William Roache) is still completely unaware of what Cassie Plummer (Claire Sweeney) is doing to him in Coronation Street.

Cassie began working as Ken’s carer shortly after he suffered a fall. The Barlow clan couldn’t really afford qualified aid, so agreed to Cassie’s plan of allowing her to help instead.

After spending months getting to know Ken, Cassie was put out when he announced that he no longer needed her around. Troubled over losing her income, Cassie took to spiking Ken’s drinks with drugs.

As he fell unwell, Ken called on Cassie to keep an eye on him, and this process hasn’t stopped since.

In upcoming episodes, Adam (Sa

Robertson) and Alya (Sair Khan) pop by Number 1 and find Ken looking decidedly peaky. They remain unaware, however, that Cassie has made him a cup of tea and laced it with antihistamines.

Later, Ken opens his bank account and is confused to find some unusual transactions. He tells Tracy (Kate Ford), who immediately accuses Cassie of stealing from Ken.

Cassie manages to worm her way out of the situation, as Ken then asks her if she’d consider moving into Number 1 full time – and she says yes.

A delighted Cassie updates Evelyn (Maureen Lipman) and says that she’s moving in with Ken because he now needs round the clock care.

The development leaves Evelyn mildly suspicious – but will she work out what Cassie has been up to?
