There are just six celebrities remaining in the jungle after the Thursday’s double elimination
The ‘most likely’ winner of this year’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here has been named as a common pattern has been spotted following Thursday’s double eviction (December 5).
Near the end of the show, Ant and Dec announced that two stars would be leaving the jungle after receiving the fewest votes from the public. It was then revealed that Barry McGuigan and Maura Higgins would be the fifth and sixth celebrities to leave camp this year.
It came after a twist in tonight’s show saw Oti Mabuse granted immunity from tonight’s public vote, and tomorrow, as well as being guaranteed a place in Celebrity Cyclone, after she won the ‘Battle Blocks’ trial.
With just six celebrities now remaining in camp, and the final just days away, the ‘most likely’ winner has been named after a common theme has been picked up on the show.
Research conducted by online casino comparison service Casino Alpha analysed the age, gender and profession of former I’m a Celebrity contestants to identify the characteristics of the most successful stars.
Based on their analysis, Coronation Street actor Alan Halsall is most likely to be crowned ‘King of the Jungle’ this year. Out of the winners of the previous 23 series, 57 percent were male contestants – including Sam Thompson in 2023 and Danny Miller in 2021 – compared to 43 percent of female winners.
Furthermore, more than a fifth (22 percent) of winners of the popular ITV how have been actors and a further 17 percent of winners have been reality TV stars.
If this pattern continues, Alan could follow in the footsteps of soap actors who have previously claimed the crown, which includes former and current EastEnders stars Joe Swash, Charlie Brooks and Jacqueline Jossa, as well as Emmerdale’s Danny Miller.
Alan also falls close to the average age of 40 for former male winners, being only two years older, at 42. According to the research, male contestants also have a higher chance of making it to the final three than female contestants.
Over three-fifths (61 percent) of the final three contestants across the previous 23 series have been male, compared to only 39 percent being female, according to their research.
Commenting on the findings, a spokesperson for Casino Alpha says: “Based on the characteristics of former winners, Coronation Street star Alan Halsall is our most likely pick to take home the crown. His calm and caring nature towards his fellow campmates has also resonated with fans online, which puts him in good stead for the final.
“The voters appear to be especially fond of stars who they are used to seeing on their TV screens, with actors, musicians and reality TV stars all proving to be the most successful.
“It seems these professions stand an even stronger chance if they are male, as the audience has favoured them in the past over female contestants. It’ll be interesting to see if this is the case again this year, or if an underdog captures the hearts of the nation.”
