The Coronation Street star is among the ten famous faces who have headed Down Under to take part in the ITV reality show

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here fans were left asking who Alan Halsall is as they couldn’t separate him from his real personal and his Coronation Street one.

The actor, who is famed for playing Tyrone Dobbs in the ITV soap for 26 years, is among the ten famous faces who have headed Down Under to take part in the ITV reality show, which kicked off on Sunday night (November 17).

Joining him on the show, hosted by Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly, is Dancing on Ice judge Oti Mabuse, TikTok and Loose Women star GK Barry, N-Dubz singer Tulisa, McFly’s Danny Jones, WAG Coleen Rooney, BBC Radio 1 DJ Melvin Odoom, Loose Women panellist and journalist Jane Moore, former boxer Barry McGuigan and Radio presenter Dean McCullough.

During the 2024 series opener, Alan was seen meeting some of his campmates for the first time before they had to get stuck into their first challenges in a bid to become the leaders of the camp.

The celebrities were paired up and were fighting to be the top dogs of camp as they will get certain privileges, including being exempt from the first trial, not having to do chores and getting to sleep in the leaders’ lodge.

Those entering alongside Alan had to travel to a river where they must find the keys to unlock their boats by putting their hands into “hell holes” which were likely to contain insects, snakes or other animals. Alan and Tulisa won the competition and were crowned the first camp leaders and soon had to choose which two campmates they wanted to face a trial to win the first meal for camp.

@Charlotte_x91 shared: “Everytime I hear ‘Alan’. Um, that’s Tyrone. #ImACeleb.” @DanHarvey74 asked: “Why’s Tyrone referring to himself as Alan? #imacelebrity.” @zoecoatesxo added: “Alan just is Tyrone isn’t he #ImACeleb.”
