ITV Emmerdale’s Nate ‘actually dead’ as fans ‘work out’ who’s pretending to be him

Emmerdale fans are convinced they’ve worked out what’s happened to Nate Robinson with a shock villager pretending to be him.

Emmerdale fans are convinced that Nate Robinson has met a grim fate and suspect an unexpected resident might be pretending to be him.

Last seen on the Dales a week prior, Nate (played by Jurell Carter) found himself embroiled in turbulence with his dad, Cain Dingle (portrayed by Jeff Hordley), after being wrongfully accused of smooching his stepmother Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb), amid a confusing scenario spurred by her health woes, which later turned out to be a brain tumour.

Before this debacle, Nate had snagged an opportunity in Scotland, a move aligning with actor Jurell Carter bidding adieu to the ITV series. His character revealed his impending departure to his wife Tracy Metcalfe (Amy Walsh), who had made arrangements for herself and their daughter Frankie to join him.

Nonetheless, the fallout from the misunderstood ‘kiss’ caused Tracy to question Nates fidelity, ultimately demanding he pack his bags for good. In the succeeding days, Nate’s whereabouts were shrouded in mystery, leaving various characters scrambling to locate him.

In a turn of emotions, once Tracy discovered that there was no lip-lock between Nate and Moira and she had cast him out over a ‘false’hood, she was left shattered. During Monday’s episode, dated September 16, Tracy received a heart-wrenching message regarding Nate instigating fan theories galore, reports Leeds Live.

In the episode, Tracy was greeted by a text from Nate confirming his arrival in Scotland saying: “Settled in. Heads a mess don’t call me I’ll call you when I’m ready,” which stirred a wave of emotions within her.

Emmerdale enthusiasts are convinced that Nate is deceased and an imposter is using his mobile to masquerade as him. While the enigmatic John Sugden, played by Oliver Farnworth, is suspected by some to be linked to Nate’s vanishing act, others speculate a different culprit.

Online discussions have viewers suggesting that the villainous Tom King, portrayed by James Chase, who has been tormenting his wife Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper), might be involved.

On an Emmerdale fan page on Facebook, a user speculated: “Come on now, someone has Nate’s phone and texting Tracy so I really feel that he is dead.” Echoing this sentiment, another commented: “Don’t think it was Nate….someone got his phone.”

A third added their suspicion: “It’s not Nate texting her I reckon it’s Tom.” Another fan declared: “Tom’s done something to Nate! ! ” Meanwhile, a fifth wrote: “Seems strange that he’s text saying don’t contact him he will contact Tracy first… You might be on to something here as Tom is such a nasty character.”

Further adding to the theory, another said: “yup don’t think Nate sent that message,” while yet another viewer expressed disappointment with Nate’s departure: “Nate’s character wasn’t the most impactful but what a sh**e exit! I’m hoping Tom or John’s killed him and texting Tracy.”

Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 and ITVX at 7.30pm
