ITV Emmerdale’s Michelle Hardwick’s plea ahead of battle with rival soap

The actress is part of the Emmerdale team set to go against Coronation Street

Emmerdale star Michelle Hardwick took to her social media as she made a plea ahead of Emmerdale’s netball battle with rival soap, Coronation Street.

Things will be heating up in the Netball Super League as Manchester Thunder will take on reigning champions Loughborough Lightning in a huge game on Sunday.

As the tension grows, soap fans are in for a treat too as there will be a battle of the small screen as stars from Coronation Street and Emmerdale take each other on.

It’s the ultimate Cobbles vs Dales as the race is on to see which ITV soap will lift the Soap Challenge trophy.

Going head-to-head on the netball court, the last battle took place 10 years ago after a number of years of the two soaps coming together to raise money for Text Santa, an ITV campaign which supported six charities – Teenage Cancer Trust, Guide Dogs, WellChild, Marie Curie Cancer Care, Alzheimer’s Society and Together for Short Lives.

For Coronation Street, the stars include: Channique Sterling-Brown (Dee-Dee Bailey), Sydney Martin (Betsy Swain), Vicky Myers (DS Lisa Swain), Jane Hazlegrove (Bernie Winter) and Cait Fitton (Lauren Bolton).

As for Emmerdale, the stars ready to fight for the win are: Eden Taylor-Draper (Belle Dingle), Michelle Hardwick (Vanessa Woodfield), Rosie Bentham (Gabby Thomas)Charlotte Bellamy (Laurel Thomas), Amy Walsh (Tracy Metcalfe)Zoe Henry (Rhona Goskirk)Amelia Flanagan (April Windsor)Katie Hill (Sarah Sugden)Gabrielle Downing (Cathy Hope) and Olivia Bromley (Dawn Taylor).

Taking to her Instagram on Wednesday (12th march), Michelle posted a throwback photo of herself and wrote: “22 years old. I’d like this fitness back for this Sunday please (thumbs up emoji).

The Manchester Thunder team posted some behind-the-scenes shots of both soaps preparing for the big game, with the caption: “Who do you think will come out on and lift the trophy on Sun 16th March? Will it be the cobbles or countryside?”
