Emmerdale fans were left devastated in recent scenes as Amy Wyatt was killed off on the hit ITV soap.

Only recently, the village was left reeling following the devastating limo crash, which claimed the lives of Suzy Merton, Leyla Harding and Amy.

During the dramatic scenes, Amy fell into the frozen lake, where she was rescued but tragically died later in hospital from her injuries.

Appearing on Hits Radio West Yorkshire after her emotional soap exit, Amy actress Natalie Ann Jamieson was grilled on the scenes as presenter Rosie Madison pointed out a ‘plot hole’.

Talking about the scenes, actress Natalie said: “Two limos going out for a lovely night out, sounds brilliant, but then ooh one swerves to miss a lorry and the other one crashes straight into ice. Into the ice goes Amy Wyatt.”

She added: “There had been teasers for ages for Emmerdale like going: ‘Who is that hand?’, everybody was going: ‘Well, it’s definitely a man’s hand!’ and I was like: ‘Hm, definitely a man’s hand!’… it was me all along!”

However, presenter Rosie was quick to point out: “Can I just say when we were watching, we were shouting at the telly because there was a few things that we’ve all been trained that if you ever fell through ice. One… you never walk on ice but two if you ever fell through you take your clothes off, you strip down!”

To which Natalie replied: “Yep! I was sodden, do you know what though? I just don’t know that they would have let us do that at 7:30pm at night! I did say do you want me to” to which the studio burst out laughing.

It comes as Emmerdale actress Natalie broke down in tears as she watched her character’s exit from the ITV soap on Friday’s Lorraine.

On Thursday night, Amy died in hospital after falling into an icy lake following the limo crash, which also resulted in the deaths of two other villagers – Suzy and Leyla.

It was emotional for Natalie to re-watch the scene, as she told host Christine Lampard: “It was very traumatic. We watched it in the hotel because I knew I was coming here this morning. It was a very, very sad episode.”

She continued: “It wasn’t to be for Amy, but what a way to go! What an episode, what an exit”, adding of how long she has known of her soap exit: “I’ve known for a long, long time, but I just think it’s so special.

“So when you don’t have spoilers for things like this, and when it comes as a surprise for the audience, and they get to watch it in real-time, there’s just something magical about it, so I was really keen to try and keep it under wraps.”

Emmerdale continues Monday to Friday at 7:30pm on ITV and ITV X with an hour-long special on Thursdays.
