Fans of Emmerdale are hoping for one former couple to realise they belong together
Emmerdale fans are convinced a former couple are still meant to be – and declare that one villager is still “the one” for Vanessa Woodfield.
During recent episodes, Vanessa has been grieving the loss of her girlfriend Suzy Merton who was one of the three confirmed deaths in the Valentine’s limo crash. Suzy was the first to die as she succumbed to a fatal head injury, followed by her Take A Vow colleague Leyla Harding, and then Amy Wyatt.
Her grief turned to anger after she learned that Suzy had kissed another woman after going through her phone to find a picture that Leyla had sent. Instead, she found texts from Suzy to say that she wanted to end her relationship with Vanessa.
After confiding in Mary, she became desperate to hunt down whoever it was that Suzy kissed. While speaking to Rhona, Vanessa found a bracelet under the couch which Rhona soon confirmed belonged to Mary.
Heading over to the Woolpack, Vanessa confronted Mary as the latter profusely apologised and insisted it was “just one kiss”. In true soap form, Vanessa chucked a drink over Mary before leaving the pub in tears.

In Friday’s (14th March) instalment, Vanessa sat with Tracy as she talked through everything that happened. In despair she asked: “Why does everyone cheat on me?”
As Tracy comforted her, Vanessa responded: “I thought Charity was the one and she copped off with a totally random stranger.” Charity Dingle and Vanessa Woodfield are fondly known as “Vanity” to fans of the ITV soap, and many viewers have been waiting for them to rekindle.
When Vanessa briefly left the village, Tracy decided to send Vanessa a picture of Charity kissing someone else (Mackenzie Boyd), leading her to believe that she was having an affair. Vanessa decided to end the relationship and stay at her mum’s.
Since then, Vanessa returned to the Dales and was shocked to see Charity was now with Mackenzie, who later became her husband. The pair have barely interacted apart from an “almost kiss” after Vanessa checked in on Charity when the grand re-opening of The Woolpack Pub ended in disaster.
