ITV Emmerdale twist as new clues into April Windsor disappearance emerge

Emmerdale viewers were left scratching their heads during Monday night’s episode as they spotted something missing as Marlon searched for clues to his daughter’s sudden disappearance

Monday night’s episode of Emmerdale dropped another hint in the ongoing mystery of April Windsor’s disappearance.

In a recent twist, Jacob Gallagher, who is training to be a doctor, was shocked during his shift in A&E upon the arrival of a young woman with stab wounds.

While he did not catch a glimpse of her face, the discovery of her purse led him to a startling realization: it belonged to the missing April, prompting a wave of concern. He wasted no time alerting Marlon Dingle and Rhona Goskirk, April’s worried parents.

The anxious parents hurried to the hospital, expecting the worst, only to learn from the surgeon that the patient had died. However, when asked to identify the body, they were stunned to find out it wasn’t their daughter but someone else, causing further turmoil and landing Jacob in hot water with hospital staff for compromising patient privacy.

Although this revelation implies April could still be alive, her parents are left with troubling questions about the possibility of April’s involvement in the stabbing and how her purse ended up with the victim.

As tensions mounted, Monday’s installment saw some relief when Marlon, speaking to Rhona, passed on news from the police on the phone: “It’s the police, they’ve arrested some guy for stabbing that poor girl, I mean it’s something right, whatever happened, April didn’t do it!”

Rhona responded pointedly to Marlon’s comment: “Well forgive me for not jumping for joy to learn that April hasn’t committed a violent crime! ” Marlon replied: “Yeah because that’s what I’ve been doing, obviously, celebrating!”

In a dramatic turn of events, April went missing on Christmas Day, leaving her father Marlon in shock upon discovering his daughter’s sudden disappearance during the emotionally charged episode. Upcoming episodes are set to explore the disturbing reasons behind April’s unexpected disappearance, revealing aspects of her life that were hidden from her family.

The ITV team have worked closely with the organisation Missing People to make this storyline authentic and sensitive. Before vanishing, April was shown waiting for an unnamed individual.

Soon after, a car pulled up, and without any words, April got into the back seat before being whisked away. It has since come to light that April had a secret social media profile under a pseudonym; and a recent discovery led to a video of her appearing intoxicated at a Christmas party.

Emmerdale airs every weekday at 19.30pm on ITV1, ITV X, STV and STV Player with an hour-long episode on Thursdays. It is also available each morning from 07.00am on ITVX.
