ITV Emmerdale tonight spoilers as new Dingle patriarch fights fire with fire

Cain Dingle is back to his old self following the death of his father

The Dingle’s solution to solving any problem is to fight fire with fire but will Cain taking the phrase literally, help or hinder the family?

In Tuesday night’s episode, after seeking comfort at Home Farm with Victoria after learning the truth about Mandy and Tina, Vinny returns to Wishing Well Cottage to ask Tina questions. The pair sit down and Tina confesses that she was too young to look after a baby and admits she saw Mandy as the “best option”.

However, Vinny sees through her manipulative act and tells her that she could have contacted him at anytime, so it wasn’t ‘in good faith’ that she told him the truth several days ago. He then pushes fifty grand in a brown package towards her to buy her out of her share to save his family’s home with a warning that she leaves them alone.

Taking the bait, she hands over Zak’s will and opens the envelope to see that the money is not there. Vinny later finds all of his family at The Woolpack and tells them what happened with Tina, instead of cheering that they got the will back, the Dingle clan race up home to confront her. Of course, Cain hits Tina with a final blow of torching her caravan – much to the delight of Mandy – but worry to Sam and Lydia who fear what the result of his actions will cost the family.

Elsewhere, rattled with his showdown with Caleb on Monday’s episode about the increased traffic past his home, he looks for ways to get one over on Caleb but is told by Brenda to “pick his battles wisely”. After leaving him to his own devices, Eric rings the local doctors surgery for an appointment only to be met with a voicemail, which leaves him frustrated and slams down the phone on the counter.

He quickly rushes in the local practice where he asks for an appointment to see Liam but gets told off by Wendy for shouting at Ella and is taken outside. Brenda is told about the “fuss” in the surgery and rushes home to see Eric to tell him that it’s not good for his blood pressure. She then becomes worried and asks why he needed to go to the doctors to which he replied for a “routine appointment”. Later on, he goes into the pub to complain about technology and the haulage firm annoying everyone who is trying to have a peaceful pint.

Caleb and Jai continue to be the ‘hot topic’ in discussions of The Woolpack, as their partnership is revealed by Will who thanks them both for giving Billy a job and buys them a beer. Caleb is then pulled to a corner by Jai who confesses to getting cold feet now that Laurel knows about his involvement in the business and wants his money out of the offshore account. However, he is told to keep cool and that he will get it after the launch in 48 hours.

Meanwhile Nicola tries to make amends with Angel but their discussion gets heated and she storms off after confessing that she “feels evil because bad things happen in Emmerdale” when asked about the online forum she was glued to on her laptop.
