ITV Emmerdale spoilers: Barn explosion, heartbreaking exit and blackmail horror

Emmerdale continues to bring the drama next week as a huge barn explosion leaves several in danger as Moira Dingle raises a shotgun to Ruby Fox-Milligan’s head in dramatic scenes

Emmerdale fans can expect plenty of drama next week.

Cain Dingle’s (Jeff Hordley) taken aback and reeling to hear about Moira Dingle’s (Natalie J Robb) “kiss” with his son Nate Robinson (Jurrell Carter) from Caleb Milligan (William Ash). When Moira plays down the moment his incredulity only makes her angry and she slams out.

Nate is a rabbit in the headlights when Cain turns up looking for an explanation. When furious Cain returns, Moira’s dismayed to realise he’s beaten-up Nate. As he rages about her indiscretion, a flicker of deja vu begins to intrude Moira’s thoughts.

Shocked and stressed, she slaps Cain, and he leaves. Arriving in the barn to gloat, Ruby Fox-Milligan (Beth Cordingly) becomes slightly sorry for Moira when she’s unresponsive to the jibes. As stressed Moira spills tractor fuel in the barn, Ruby’s voice begins to blur with her old nemesis Emma Barton’s (Gillian Kearney) and an unrecognisable Moira raises her shotgun at freaked out Ruby.

Soon padlocking the barn, stressed Moira continues to see Emma instead of Ruby. She fires a warning shot into the air, frightening Ruby. The shot hits a light bulb, causing a spark to take hold. A tussle for the shotgun ends with Moira dazing Ruby with a blow to the head. Hazy and shaken as she comes out of her daze, Moira is soon confused. The spark catches the tractor fuel and quickly becomes a blaze as Moira freezes, helpless next to Ruby’s body.

Seeing the smoke coming from the barn at a distance, Mack Boyd (Lawrence Robb) tries to get in touch with Moira. With no luck, he hurries to the quad bike parked nearby in the field. Exchanging a worried look when they meet at the barn, Mack and John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) both make to go inside.

A call from Mack informs Cain, Caleb and Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) of the fire and they speed off toward the barn. Cain, despite his current anger with his wife, races to the burning barn and panicking Chas tries to hold him back from dashing inside to get to his wife. With them trapped in the burning barn. Before long a huge explosion throws them all to the ground.

Elsewhere, Tracy Robinson (Amy Walsh) tells Nate she can no longer go to Shetland with him and runs out. Desperate, Nate is dismayed at what he’s losing in the face of Tracy’s ire. Soon giving Nate five minutes to explain and say goodbye to their daughter Frankie, hard-line Tracy withdraws to another room. Can Nate really leave alone as the guilty party?

Also, Will Taylor’s (Dean Andrews) on edge to hear from the blackmailer and determined to find out who he’s dealing with as he prepares to meet his fate. Soon nervous Will waits in a lay-by for the blackmailer but when Caleb informs him of the fire raging in the barn so Will can do nothing but follow them and hides his blackmail money.

Will has missed the drop. Soon a call and threatening message from his blackmailer leaves Will struggling to control his fear as he tries to support the Dingles at the barn fire.

Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 and ITVX at 7.30pm
