Emmerdale fans are convinced that a character could be returning to the hit ITV soap.

On Christmas Day, teenager April Windsor went missing in devastating scenes. During the festive episode, Marlon Dingle, played by Mark Charnock, found that his teenage daughter April, played by Amelia Flanagan, had run away.

And spoilers reveal that upcoming episodes see Marlon begin to unravel the devastating reasons his daughter chose to go missing as he discovers April was leading a life he was completely unaware of.

As part of the hard-hitting storyline, the ITV soap has worked closely with Missing People to give this storyline a realistic and authentic depiction.

It comes as before April went missing, she was seen waiting for an unknown individual to show up. It wasn’t long until a vehicle rolled up, and without speaking, April got into the back as it drove off. Soap watchers have now been left predicting that the mystery character could in fact be a returning villager.

Viewers are wondering whether the mystery driver could be Scott Windsor and April could have reached out to him. Scott is the brother of April’s later mother, Donna Windsor, so this makes him April’s uncle.

Taking to Twitter, now X, one person said: “Please say April has gone to stay with Scott or Kellie and we will get a return from one of day #emmerdale”, a different account put: “Okay what if the guy who picked up April was Scott ? #Emmerdale”, another said: “Anyone checked with Kelly and Scott?? #emmerdale” while a different fan added: “Have they contacted Scott, Kellie, Carly and Jamie any of April’s/Bob’s extended family? #emmerdale.”

Scott, played by Ben Freeman, was last seen in the village back in 2007. However, he is regularly mentioned on the ITV soap.

Despite not being on Emmerdale since 2007, Scott actor Ben made a soap return in 2021 on rival soap EastEnders. The actor played Caleb Malone for six episodes. However, despite fans’ hopes for Scott to return, it was revealed last year that Ben has quit the ITV soap for good after picking up a role in Outlander.

Emmerdale airs every weekday at 19.30pm on ITV1, ITV X, STV and STV Player with an hour-long episode on Thursdays. It is also available each morning from 07.00am on ITVX.
