Emmerdale’s Zak Dingle has not been well in recent weeks
Emmerdale viewers were updated on Zak Dingle’s health during Wednesday’s episode (September 25), as his story unfolded alongside Belle Dingle’s (Eden Taylor-Draper) struggle with Tom’s abusive behaviour.
Belle, after discovering a hidden camera planted by estranged husband Tom (James Chase), confided in Lydia (Karen Blick) and resolved to go to the authorities for help.
While discussing her situation with Chas (Lucy Pargeter) at The Woolpack, their conversation was interrupted by Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley), who was freshly off the phone with Debbie. He revealed concerns about their father Zak’s health: “It’s just dad, he’s not well and doing her head in”, indicating Zak’s condition.
Upon Chas querying, “What’s up with him?”, Cain disclosed, “A bit breathless, but then he always does stop halfway up the stairs don’t he”, signalling his unease.
Cain announced his plan to leave for Scotland to see Zak, despite Belle’s offer to check on their father, stating her preoccupation with Tom mattered more, reports Leeds Live.
The plot thickened as Cain discussed his travel plans with Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson), voicing his hesitance to leave Moira (Natalie Robb) alone amid her own health struggles with a brain tumour diagnosis.
Chas attempted to persuade Belle to check on Zak, but Belle revealed they had spoken the previous night and he seemed fine. However, could Zak Dingle’s tragic death be imminent?
Steve Halliwell, who famously portrayed Zak Dingle on the ITV soap from 1994, passed away last year.
The beloved actor sadly died on December 15, 2023, at the age of 77 after a long illness, prompting heartfelt tributes from many of his co-stars.
Following his death, Emmerdale bosses announced that a funeral episode for the much-loved Zak Dingle would be aired.
