Emmerdale aired a dramatic twist on Thursday’s episode as a young woman, mistaken for missing April Windsor, was announced dead
Emmerdale aired a dramatic twist on Thursday’s episode amid the missing April Windsor storyline.
During the latest episode, young doctor in training Jacob Gallagher did a shift in A&E where he was alarmed to see a young woman rushed in who had been stabbed.
Jacob didn’t see the patient’s face but he discovered their purse, where he soon realised it was missing April’s, and he feared the worse, letting April’s worried parents Marlon Dingle and Rhona Goskirk know the news.
It wasn’t long until they rushed to hospital but soon their worst fears came true as the surgeon operating on the patient revealed they had passed away during surgery.
Marlon and Rhona were devastated but upon identifying the body they were stunned to discover that it wasn’t in fact April and someone else instead. This resulted in Jacob being sternly scolded by hospital staff for breaking patient confidentiality and putting the parents through unnecessary grief.
Taking to Twitter, now X, viewers were quick to speculate how the missing person came across April’s purse. One person said: “My guess is April threw her purse away before she got in that car and somebody else picked it up #emmerdale”, a different account put: “I bet someone has stolen April’s purse or she’s lost it. #Emmerdale @emmerdale”, another wrote: “Telling you, it’s not even April, I reckon it’s someone who stole her purse! #emmerdale” while a different account added: “No way that’s April, someone’s knicked her purse clearly! #Emmerdale.”
On Christmas Day, viewers were left distraught as teenager April disappeared in heart-wrenching scenes.
Marlon discovered his teenage daughter April had run away during the festive episode. Upcoming episodes promise to reveal the distressing reasons behind April’s decision to disappear, uncovering a life Marlon was entirely oblivious to.
The ITV soap has collaborated closely with Missing People to ensure an accurate and realistic portrayal of this hard-hitting storyline. Prior to her disappearance, April was seen waiting for an unidentified person.
A vehicle soon arrived and without a word, April climbed into the back and was driven away. Since then, they have discovered a secret social media account, which April had been using under an alias, with a video showing her drunk at a party.
Emmerdale airs every weekday at 19.30pm on ITV1, ITV X, STV and STV Player with an hour-long episode on Thursdays. It is also available each morning from 07.00am on ITVX.
