Emmerdale viewers were left reeling after a shocking revelation about Marlon Dingle was exposed on Wednesday’s episode of the ITV hit soap.
Emmerdale fans were left gobsmacked as Marlon Dingle’s troubling secret came to light, revealing a significant connection to his daughter April Windsor’s vanishing act.
The village has been on tenterhooks since the teen disappeared, and in Wednesday’s gripping episode of the ITV favourite, it was unveiled by police officer Anna that April had a covert social media profile.
Audiences were then privy to footage showing an intoxicated April prepping for a party, leaving Marlon utterly distraught and taken aback by his daughter’s conduct.
The plot thickened when it transpired that April harboured suspicions of her father having a clandestine romance with Laurel.
Marlon vehemently denied any romantic involvement with Laurel and implored Anna to keep Rhona out of the loop regarding the affair suspicions, reports Leeds Live.
The weight of the situation was evident on Marlon, who agonised over whether he played a part in April’s abrupt departure.
In a bid to confront the issue, he made a beeline for Laurel to alert her that the police were clued into their messages. Initially appalled, Laurel’s concern turned to relief upon learning Rhona was yet unaware.
However, her relief was short-lived when she realised Marlon had allowed the police access to his phone. Tensions escalated as Laurel retorted: “OK, you’re under a lot of pressure, I get it. But April hasn’t run away because of some texts. Please Marlon. If this gets out I could lose everything.”
A livid Marlon quickly contended that their secret might not remain hidden much longer, and it could be crucial in helping them locate April. Marlon exclaimed: “I want my daughter home, Laurel. Whatever the cost.”
