Emmerdale’s April confirmed who the father of her baby was to Marlon after he questioned her
Emmerdale fans shared that the reveal of the real father to April’s baby “hurts” as the character confirmed who got her pregnant on Thursday night (February 6).
Earlier this week the ITV soap aired a special flashback episode that showed viewers what happened to April after she ran away on Christmas Day. It was revealed that April had fallen pregnant and fled the village after worrying that it would add further upset to her already strained family dynamic.
In an unfortunate and harrowing twist, April was left on her while on the streets after her new friend Becca was stabbed and killed, and Dylan was arrested during a police raid. Things continued to get darker for the teenager as she doubled over in pain and managed to sneak into the toilets of a gym.
It was there that viewers watched as April had a tragic stillbirth, the emotional scene aired as April’s face was stained with tears as her unborn baby lay beside her.
Later, April was rushed to hospital and before the credits rolled Marlon was reunited with his daughter and asked if he could hold her hand after everything they’d both been through.

During Thursday’s episode, Marlon questioned his daughter on who the father is. Fan theories have suggested Ross Barton, Arthur Thomas and even murdered villain Anthony Fox as the potential culprit.
As Marlon asked: “Was he part of the reason you left? Were the two of you still in contact? Does he know?” April was quick to respond: “He was just a random lad that I met at a party – I didn’t even know his name, dad.”
Further along in the episode, April shared with Marlon why she chose to keep the pregnancy a secret and flee her family home. She opened up: “I wanted to tell you, I almost did,” she said. “But then, I found out that you’d always known how my mum really died. Lied to me about it my whole life. So then I figured, if you could keep secrets then so could I.”
It was only recently that April learnt of how her mum Donna Windsor died, and the teen pointed out that Marlon “hardly ever noticed me unless I was drunk” while also sharing that after his stroke she had to be “the strong one”.
Fans were quick to react on social media as the real father figure was confirmed. On a Facebook fan group for Emmerdale, one viewer admitted: “My heart hurts for her…. one random lad and she’s gone through all that” to which another viewer responded: “so sad but probably the best outcome that it’s not someone in the village”.
On Instagram some fans think there’s still more to come after April’s admission, @imaco5o6 theorised: ” I think we’ll find there’s more to that storyline than it being some random?”.
Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7:30pm on ITV1 and is available to stream on ITVX.
