Emmerdale fans are convinced they’ve rumbled Gail Loman’s exit from the village after actress Rachael Gill-Davis ‘quit’
Emmerdale viewers think they’ve rumbled Gail Loman’s exit from the village.
It was recently reported that Gail actress Rachael Gill-Davis had quit the ITV soap after two years in a permanent role, she made her first village debut back in 2019.
Gail joined Emmerdale as a love interest for Ryan Stocks with the two working together at The Woolpack, which Ryan co-owns with mother Charity Dingle. In one explosive storyline for the duo, it was revealed that they’d welcomed a child, Oscar Grisham, in 2010 and they had put him up for adoption.
Oscar’s adoptive mother, Sophie Grisham, got in touch with Gail in 2023 after the young lad was diagnosed with aplastic anaemia and needed a bone marrow transplant. This forced Gail to tell Ryan about his son and they both got tested to see if they were a match for a bone marrow transplant. However, Sophie soon got jealous over Oscar’s bond with his biological parents.

Yet, after six years on-off on the ITV soap, it has been reported that Gail actress Rachael has quit and will be leaving the village soon.
A source told The Sun: “Rachael has loved her time on the show but it’s time to go. Bosses felt the character wasn’t inspiring much story and so it was all very amicable.
“The door has been left open but it’s a definite goodbye for now. Rachael is looking forward to spreading her wings and showing off her talents on other shows.”

Viewers have already started speculating how Gail will leave the show, while it’s thought the door will be kept open for a return. Taking to Twitter, now X, one person said: “I am gutted but had a feeling as Gail hasn’t done much and it’s a shame. I wonder what type of exit she will have. I would like her to find her son or something like that, or maybe a twist… I hope she gets proper screen time before her exit.”
Meanwhile, a different account put: “Yeah she’s a fun character and nice to see her relaxing with Ryan. I liked her storyline with her son Oscar. I hope she gets another storyline before she leaves, same with Ella. I’m wondering if she breaks up with Ryan and that’s why she leaves…” while another added: “Shame, I wonder if that means Ryan will be leaving too #Emmerdale.”
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays.
