Fans were in shock at the intensity of the limo crash in the Dales
Emmerdale have teased fans of the ITV soap over the horrific limo crash that will end in death and tragedy for any of the 17 villagers involved.
On Friday (February 14) night, viewers watched as one of the limos started to submerge nose-first into a frozen lake after veering off the road. It’s been confirmed that nine characters are at risk: Liam, Chas, Kerry, Tracy, Leyla, Suzy, Amy, Vanessa and Charity.
With Liam Cavanaugh having planned a romantic night where he intended to propose to Chas, he swapped limos with Mandy last minute so he could spend the evening with Chas.
While the night ensued, Liam took his chance to propose in the back of the limo. Much to everyone’s surprise he grabbed the microphone and said: “I know we haven’t known each other very long and we’re different. Very different. Polar opposites in fact… But you are the yin to my yang, the ping to my pong.
“Will you shut me up and make me the happiest man alive? Marry me?” but before anyone had a chance to react, Charity gasped as she veered the limo away from the road.

Tensions were high from the beginning of the evening in the boys limo, as Caleb was struggling to control his emotions when it came to his brother’s betrayal.
Caleb had learned from Anthony Fox that Cain slept with Ruby. However, Cain originally told him that Anthony had made it up just to manipulate him. This excuse was believed by Caleb for some time, but his suspicions grew too far and Caleb has become bloodthirsty for revenge.
He even went as far as to try and plant Anthony’s missing tooth in Cain’s car before the police went searching, however, Aaron stopped him. After threatening Aaron that he’d go to the police with CCTV footage if he dobbed Ruby in, Aaron agreed he’d keep shtum.
As anger escalated in the boys limo, the group begged Caleb to slow down and watch where he was going as he sped up through the narrow lanes. Cain tried to encourage Caleb to pull over and they can talk about it properly. Unfortunately, it was too late as viewers saw Caleb suddenly swerve off the road.

One limo was shown stuck in the frozen lake, slowly submerging beneath the freezing waters. The ITV soap has already confirmed that someone is trapped under the ice and will be on their way to a watery grave in a “horrific” death.
The episode ended on a cliff-hanger, but fans were still in shock at the outcome. Taking to X (formerly known as Twitter), @ChrisLewin wrote: “Wow! What an episode, my jaw dropped!”
@JamesGregory197 echoed: “Today’s episode of #Emmerdale is a fantastic setup for what should be hopefully a cracking week, especially as a limo crash is pretty different by soap standards when it comes to stunts.”
@RyanTheSoapking added: “Just watched tonight’s #Emmerdale. WOW! That final scene with the limo stunt was intense”.
Emmerdale airs on weekdays at 7:30pm on ITV1 and is available to stream on ITVX from 7am.
