ITV Emmerdale fans issue ‘need’ demand after Aaron Dingle twist in Anthony’s death

Fans of Emmerdale make a plea to the ITV soap after Aaron confronted Anthony

Emmerdale fans were left in the cold at the end of Wednesday night’s (January 22) episode after Anthony managed to escape his death sentence from Caleb. However, it was Aaron Dingle who made viewers “demand” more after it ended in a cliff-hanger.

After Caleb Miligan forced a confession from Anthony Fox regarding his abuse towards Ruby as a teenager, fans watching the ITV soap heard the gun go off yet Anthony managed to flee the scene, meaning no one seemed to get harmed in Caleb’s sadistic game of Russian roulette.

This proved to be quite the shock considering theories circulated about Caleb being Anthony’s killer as he became desperate to get justice for his wife Ruby. The episode pulled off another unexpected twist as after finding out Cain slept with Ruby, Caleb shakily held the gun towards his brother as his back was turned.

Luckily, he didn’t go through with shooting Cain, the latter of which was still convinced that his secret fling with Ruby was kept under wraps. Meanwhile, Ruby fretted over Steph finding out the truth and made Caleb promise that he wouldn’t reveal the secret of her true paternity.

As the episode was coming to a close and viewers worried that Anthony would get away, he was approached at the depot by an irate Aaron Dingle who has seemingly uncovered the true nature of Anthony. As Aaron waltzed up to the villain, he announced: “I think it’s about time me and you had a little chat.”

In 2016, Emmerdale aired a storyline of Aaron Dingle sharing the story of how he was abused repeatedly by his biological father Gordon Livesy from eight-years-old. Gordon was sentenced for his crimes but never served his full punishment as he killed himself while in prison.

Actor Danny Miller who plays Aaron shared: “I think it’s pure disgust and dread as to how he’ll deal with this and bringing back so many evil and dark memories for Aaron that he’d suppressed for so many years” after adding: “He sees an opportunity to hand over Gordon (in Anthony) to the police – who will then serve his sentence in prison and give Ruby the justice she a) deserves and b) never had the chance of having himself.”

Fans took to social media to demand the next instalment as they watched the episode, posting on X (formerly known as Twitter) @AnnieSugden75 wrote: “OMG Emmerdale seen today’s now definitely need to see Thursday’s!” followed by a shocked emoji. A viewer on an Emmerdale Facebook fan page added: “I can’t believe it ended like that, I need to see what Aaron does next.”

Another commented: “I was on the edge of my seat. Tomorrow’s will be unmissable.” @DannyMFansite asked: “Let’s hope Aaron’s role in this story expands somewhat because he feels like an extra in the plot so far, given they included him as suspect at least include him then & Chas too!”

Emmerdale airs on weekdays at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
