Fans have called out how one villager is sneaking around in the Dales
Emmerdale fans watched as Nate Robinson’s daughter Frankie received a birthday present from her dad even though his body was seen floating in the lake last week.
During Tuesday’s (February 25) instalment, Cain approached Tracy’s home and noticed a package had been left on the doorstep. Cain hands over the parcel, and as Frankie opens it Tracy exclaims that it’s from Nate. She then goes onto say she hasn’t heard from him, even after she contacted him about the crash.
She’s not alone, as Cain nodded in agreement admitting he has yet to hear from Nate either, wondering why he’s not present on Frankie’s birthday.
Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter) swiftly departed the Dales after he received a new job opportunity in Shetland. His exit followed a string of drama after him and Tracy ended their relationship when he was accused of having an affair with Moira.
Since he left, the residents have shared that they’ve only heard from him once to say he had arrived and it’s been quiet ever since. Fans theorised he had been killed off, and suspicions have seemingly been confirmed as his body was spotted in the lake.

During the horror limo crash that took place on Valentine’s Day, Amy Wyatt (Natalie Ann Jamieson) was plunged into the frozen lake after the ice cracked beneath her feet as she tried to get to safety. Once under the water, she tried her best to claw her way back to the surface, but was instead greeted by a decomposing body.
Fans were quick to point out the body had to belong to Nate, as on the wrist was the exact same bracelet he was wearing before he “left” the Dales.
Amy confirmed it was Nate as she tried to tell husband Matty what she saw as she lay in hospital. Unfortunately, Matty didn’t understand what she was trying to say and Amy died from a cardiac arrest after suffering with severe hypothermia.

Since then, viewers have been trying to figure out who the mystery killer could be – and they’re convinced it’s John Sugden. John may be a mystery to everyone in the Dales, but fans grew suspicious ever since he helped discard of Anthony Fox’s body relatively calmly.
Now that the killer is clearly trying to keep up the pretence with Frankie’s birthday present, some audience members have questioned how they managed to find out her birthday.
On a Reddit thread, u/SoapFan85 asked: “My question is would John, who some of us currently think killed Nate, really know the date of Frankie’s birthday? Like would Tracy have told him, and would he have felt the need to ask someone? Surely the person who killed Nate is someone who knows the date of Frankie’s birthday, able to order a gift to arrive on the right day”.
u/g0ldenElitist replied: “The killer obviously has hold of Nate’s phone. It’s possible that Nate had saved Frankie’s birthday as a reminder on there and that’s how the killer knew to send a present. What’s odd though is how long do they intend to keep up the pretence that he’s still alive? Do they think no one is ever going to notice?”
However, it was u/P485 who pointed out that if the killer is John, he could have gone the extra mile as they shared: “I thought John worked at the doctors surgery, he’d be able to access her files there as well as having Nate’s phone.”
Emmerdale airs on weekdays at 7:30pm on ITV1 and is available to stream on ITVX.
