Emmerdale fans are convinced Tom King will target Gabby Thomas next after he made a move on her in the pub, despite her telling him she was interested in Vinny Dingle
Emmerdale fans are growing increasingly worried for Gabby Thomas (played by Rosie Bentham) after Tom King (James Chase) made a pass at her in The Woolpack. This week saw Tom escalate his abusive behaviour towards wife Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) culminating in the horrifying death of their pet dog Piper.
Tom, who is a vet, claimed he had done ‘everything he could’ to save Piper after running her over, leaving Belle devastated. He used the tragic incident to regain emotional control over Belle following her declaration that she wanted to leave him due to his violent tendencies.
However, it seems Belle has seen through Tom’s act and accused him of causing her injuries. In Tuesday’s episode (August 20), Belle voiced her suspicions that Tom was behind Piper’s death and discussed his abuse as they laid their pet to rest.
Meanwhile, Gabby and her love interest Vinny Dingle (Bradley Johnson) continued to grow closer as they planned to enjoy a drink together at the pub.
After securing an investment from Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy) in The Hide, Gabby celebrated with a bottle of bubbly. But when she went to order her drink, Tom was also at the bar and attempted to flirt with her, reports the Manchester Evening News.
Tom showered Gabby with compliments and hinted at his interest in pursuing a romantic relationship with her. However, Gabby rejected his advances before sharing a passionate kiss with Vinny, making it clear she was not interested in Tom.
Emmerdale fans are up in arms over fears Gabby might be the next prey in Tom’s sinister plot. Concerned viewers are taking to social media to air their unease, with one fan posting: “So Tom wants Gabby as his next victim? That just came over as creepy and just wrong. #Emmerdale.”
It’s not just the one Emmerdale aficionado who’s troubled; another commented with clear revulsion, saying: “Tom hitting on Gabby, disgusting human #Emmerdale.”
Disgust is spreading among the fan base, with a succinct tweet from another viewer reading simply: “Emmerdale Ewww Tom.”
But it’s not all doom and gloom one admirer applauded Gabby’s spunky retort, posting: “In your face, Tom…brilliant from Gabby their…#emmerdale”.
And the speculation mill is whirring away, with one fan predicting dark times ahead: “I have a feeling Tom will get into a relationship with someone else in the village and control them the same #Emmerdale”.
Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
