Fans were gutted after Suzy died in the limo crash

Emmerdale fans watched the aftermath of the horrific limo crash that left the girls – and Liam – in danger as they balanced precariously on the frozen lake.

During Monday’s (17th February) episode, the girls limo was slowly submerging into the frozen lake after Charity veered off the road to avoid hitting Noah Dingle who was wandering around alone and confused.

As the girls made it one by one out of the limo, Leyla and Kerry told Amy to go next. As Vanessa and Tracy waited at the edge of the lake for her to cross, Amy shuffled slowly as the ice creaked beneath her feet.

Unfortunately, Suzy died from the impact of the crash after hitting her head as the vehicle veered off the road and into the lake. Liam pronounced her dead at the scene as he carefully examined her.

Shortly after Mary came out, Suzy became her confidante as she navigated the world of dating. Suzy was also a massive support when Mary fell for con woman Faye after she scammed her out of thousands of pounds.

Martelle Edinborough joined the ITV soap in 2022 and was introduced as the new love interest for Vanessa. She announced her departure on her social media on Tuesday (18th February), where she wrote: “And just like that….Suzy is no more and a new chapter begins!! What an ep! It’s been such a blessing to have been a part of such an iconic show that I grew up on and loved by so many!!”

Many fans were hoping that Suzy and Mary would end up together after Suzy expressed her uncertainty at being with Vanessa. On X (formerly known as Twitter), @LauJane_ wrote: “I just remembered that Mary is gonna be devastated about Suzy too!”

@She_Lovesss_ added: “What Mary & Suzy has shown, never know what’s going to happen. Mary thought she was too older for Suzy & how long they’d have together clouded taking chance, only for Suzy to be one to die first. There is no guarantee in life, take the chances when you have them”.

@Emmerdale2dae echoed: “A huge congratulations on your time in Emmerdale! What a character Suzy was throughout the years and the various storylines to be a part of. What an exit! A lovely relationship with Vanessa and the what could have been with Mary”.
