Fans have figured out who is next to die in the Dales after a new teaser was released

Emmerdale fans called the latest twist “disturbing” after the ITV soap teased viewers with a short trailer of what to expect on next week’s episode.

The residents of the Dales can expect a night where “romance turns into terror” on Valentine’s Day (February 14) as Emmerdale confirmed at least 16 villagers are set to be caught up in the horrifying incident.

According to recent spoilers, the night starts off promising with Liam preparing to propose to Chas as he buys the majority of raffle tickets in the hopes he’ll win a night in the limo. However, Kerry ends up winning the prize and so he scrambles at the last second to find another limo.

Unfortunately, the pair get split as the 16 villagers depart into two different limos. The evening takes a dive and, with the drivers both distracted, the two cars separately swerve off the road in unrelated accidents. One limo crashed onto a frozen lake, as the ice cracks leaving one of the groups in a perilous position.

The first trailer was released on Friday (February 7) and started with a helium heart-shaped balloon floating ominously from the Woolpack Pub before it deflates and falls by the side of the limo that’s crashed into the icy lake.

Before the trailer ends, viewers are shown the familiar hand under the ice desperate to get out. This flashforward was first teased to fans on New Year’s Eve to highlight what to expect in 2025.

Fans have previously suggested who could possibly be under the ice, with villain Anthony Fox being a favourite candidate. However, this theory is no longer possible as viewers saw that he was murdered after his heinous crimes were outed.

Taking to X (formerly known as Twitter), @BooChilling branded the trailer “very disturbing” as other fans placed their bets on who they think is really under the ice.

Most viewers have come to the same agreement that Leyla Harding is the one trapped, particularly as actress Roxy Shahidi has confirmed her exit this year.

On an Emmerdale Facebook group, one viewer suggested: “Oh no well my guess maybe it’s Leyla. She’s leaving that’s her exit” and another added: “I reckon this is when Leyla dies and Caleb in hospital”.

A third echoed: “I bet Leyla is the victim” as another fan wrote: “It has to be Leyla as she wanted to leave and would make sense if Jacob was on-call at the hospital and got to say goodbye to her that way.”
