ITV Emmerdale confirms exit for another legend – but she dubs it ‘blessing in disguise’

Emmerdale’s Kim Tate has said her goodbyes to the village

Emmerdale’s Kim Tate has bid farewell to the renowned village.

The soap icon, played by Claire King, has had a turbulent few months following the arrival of Rose Jackson. Rose made her entrance into the Dales earlier this year as the estranged ex-wife of Will Taylor (Dean Andrews) and mother of Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley).

It was subsequently disclosed that Rose was being blackmailed by Ruby Fox-Milligan (Beth Cordingly), who is hell-bent on ruining Kim Tate (Claire King)’s life.

Kim eventually discovered the truth and, enraged, she sought revenge – however, she was unaware that Will had been unfaithful with Rose, a fact that Rose secretly recorded.

After confronting Rose at Home Farm, Kim ordered her to leave permanently. Alongside her husband Will, they drove Rose to a deserted area and abandoned her there last week, reports the Express.

Later, Rose appeared startled by the sudden appearance of a character in a car, but after this scene, viewers didn’t see the car, the mystery person or even Rose – as she seemed to disappear.

Rose has gone missing recently

Hinting that something had happened to her, all that was shown were Rose’s bag, a drawing from her grandchildren and a hospital letter, scattered across the grass.

In a shocking turn of events, it was later revealed that Rose had gone missing – which has left Kim’s husband Will suspicious that she had something to do with it.

And during Thursday’s episode (August 7), Kim disclosed to Will that she was leaving the Dales to head to Dubai for work.

Kim left the Dales

Kim declared, “This trip is a blessing in disguise,” and then dealt the heavy blow: “Because right now I’d rather be anywhere, than here with you.”

Despite Will’s pleas for her to reconsider, Kim was resolute in her decision to leave.

The abrupt departure of Kim from X, the platform previously known as Twitter, set soap aficionados abuzz. A viewer commented: “Loving Kim having none of Will’s lies, she knows, he won’t own up so she’s off to Dubai to let him stew…” Meanwhile, another fan expressed their frustration, writing: “Why does Kim keep leaving, she should chuck Will and his ungrateful family out.”

Catch Emmerdale on ITV1 and ITVX, airing weeknights at 7.30pm.
