ITV Emmerdale character ‘returns from the dead’ to leave Dawn Taylor speechless

Emmerdale character Will Taylor returned to the village during Thursday’s (January 6) episode, months after he died following a heart attack

A stunning twist on Emmerdale saw Will Taylor (played by Dean Andrews) rock the village with a shock revelation after his demise during the festive season.

The character of Will suffered a deadly heart attack on Christmas Day following an explosive confrontation with Kim Tate (Claire King). In the aftermath that aired on Boxing Day, viewers were left reeling as Will was pronounced dead despite efforts to revive him, shattering his family.

In the recent episode dated January 6, fans witnessed Will’s unexpected return in the form of a pre-recorded video message directed at his daughter Dawn (Olivia Bromley).

The show opened with a devastated Dawn grieving her father’s loss, while pointedly holding Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) responsible for the tragic event.

This perspective shifted dramatically for Dawn when the coroner released the post-mortem findings, reports Leeds Live.

Contrary to initial suspicions, the official cause of death was deemed natural, removing any concerns of criminal involvement.

Amidst perusing items in Will’s possession, some of which had been passed down by his good mate Jimmy King (Nick Miles), Dawn was consoled by Kim.

Together, they shared a poignant tribute to Will as Dawn fought back tears. However, the emergence of a USB stick labelled with her name amidst Will’s possessions took Dawn by complete surprise.

Eagerly connecting it to her laptop, she was confronted by her father’s image as he began to speak: “Dawn, I hope it’s you that’s watching and not someone else.”

The message left Dawn stunned, as she digested her dad’s words. “But if you are, then that means that I’m dead. It also means that Kim did it.”

Had Will’s long-standing feud with Kim ultimately led to his demise?

He had seen fit to record the incriminating message after being blackmailed by her the previous year.

Dawn must now decide how to act on this bombshell revelation – will she use it to finally bring Kim Tate to justice?

Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7:30pm on ITV and ITVX
