Coronation Street legend Tracy Barlow will be dealt bad news in upcoming episodes, spoilers have revealed

Coronation Street’s Tracy Barlow is set to get an unwanted surprise in upcoming episodes. It’s been a turbulent period for the character, played by Kate Ford, since she returned to Weatherfield.

Tracy left her long-term relationship with Steve McDonald last year to pursue a long term relationship with Tommy Orpington in Spain. She has since returned to Weatherfield to care for her dad, Ken Barlow, who fell ill and required care from Cassandra Plummer.

Tracy has been distrusting of the character, played by Claire Sweeney, and her suspicions were proven correct last week when she discovered Cassie had been stealing money from Ken. The police were called and Claire was arrested.

Spoilers for next week’s episodes have revealed Ken will drop the charges against Cassie as he feels a degree of sympathy for her after she is thrown out of the family home by Tyrone and Fiz Dobbs. Matters are made worse for Tracy when her boyfriend, Tommy, returns home from Spain with some bad news.

Tommy is played Matt Millburn, who is scheduled to appear on screen in the episode broadcast on March 12. Spoilers for the episode have revealed Tommy has accepted a coaching job in Southampton to Tracy’s dismay.

They said: “Cassie calls in the pub and asks Jenny for some shifts but Jenny sends her packing. Tracy’s thrilled but when Tommy arrives, her face drops.

They added: “Tommy reveals that he’s accepted a coaching job in Southampton. When Tracy asserts that she’s not moving and he’ll have to choose, what will Tommy decide?

“With Steve [McDonald] and Tyrone both making it clear she’s burnt her bridges, Cassie heads into the night. With nowhere to stay and no money to her name, she unrolls her sleeping bag and hunkers down for a night in the cold.”

The drama between Tracy and Cassie will escalate in the next episode on Friday, March 14 as Tracy will aim to finish off Cassie once and for all. The character, played by Kate Ford, will invite Cassie to No.1 Coronation Street to settle their differences. However, the reality of the meeting is tempt her to fall back into addictions as she will offer her a bag of drugs to try and make Cassie succumb.

Claire admitted she is loving the dramatic scenes as she heaped praise on her co-stars. She told the ECHO and other press: “It’s made for some great scenes with Kate. I love that and the caring relationship with Ken, the pure lust for Steve McDonald and this cat and dog with Tracy makes for really exciting stuff.”
