ITV Coronation Street’s Steve McDonald star supported after health update

Fans and co-stars sent the soap star well wishes

Coronation Street’s Simon Gregson has been supported by fans and co-stars after announcing he is struggling with his health. The Steve McDonald star took to Instagram yesterday, October 4, to update fans on his weekend.

The soap star had been enjoying Sotheby’s London to Brighton veteran car run yesterday but on the journey he had faced problems as the car he had been travelling in had broken down. Simon said he had been driving the car by turning the fuel “on and off”. He announced he was still heading down to Brighton despite the car troubles by hopping in another car.

In a further update, the 50-year-old shared a video saying: “Car didn’t make it, which is fortuitous because neither have I, I am full of man flu. I thought I could make it, I couldn’t so I’m tucked up in a very nice hotel where I am going to sleep and hopefully be alright.

“Thank to the British Motorist Museum for lending us the car, hopefully go again next year. Thanks to everyone who waved to all the wonderful people in their wonderful driving machines. What an amazing event.”

Wishing the Steve McDonald star well in the comments was on-screen daughter, Amy Barlow actress, Elle Mulvaney. She said: “Feel better soon” with a love heart emoji.

Fans were quick to wish the actor well with one comment reading “get well soon there Simon” another added “hope you feel better soon, get some rest.”

Other fans stated “Aw get well soon – my husbands just beaten the evilness of man flu but he didn’t moan about it once….not once…ahem” and “Awww feel better soon Si take care & rest up.”

The Coronation Street legend was recently supported after he issued a proud update. Playing the role of Steve McDonald since 1989. His character has been at the centre of the drama this year after his long-term partner, Tracy Barlow, dumped him. Tracy fled to Spain with his partner and it was teased Steve could become embroiled in a budding romance with Cassandra Plummer, played by Claire Sweeney.

Simon is happily married to Emma Gleave and the two are the proud parents to three children. Emma previously starred in Hollyoaks but now runs The Tea Room in Cheshire. He shared to social media that Emma’s cafe has won an award.

Posting a snap of his wife on Instagram last month with the caption: “So so super proud of my baby girl 5star hygiene rating and the good food award two years running all the hard work every day 7 days a week she truly deserves it.”
