Fans were confused as they said the star has “swapped the Cobbles for the Dales”
Coronation Street star Daniel Brocklebank baffled fans as he shared an update outside Emmerdale studios. The soap star is renowned for his role as Vicar Billy Mayhew on the Cobbles.
The 45-year-old has been at the centre of a number of the show’s major storylines lately after his onscreen husband, Paul Foreman, died after a battle with Motor Neurone Disease (MND).
The actor has since followed the major storyline up with a stint on the stage as he appeared in Figaro: The Musical on the London Palladium stage. He regularly shares updates of his life in showbiz on Instagram and confused fans with his latest post.
Daniel shared a snap outside the studios of fellow ITV soap, Emmerdale. He captioned the post: “Oooooh what’s going on here then?” Daniel has previously appeared in Emmerdale in 2006 and fans suggested he could make history and be the first actor to perform in two soaps at once.
Pete said: “If he was to return to Emmerdale wouldn’t this make him the first actor to be in 2 soaps at the same time?” Other fans were desperate to find out the story behind the crossover.
Margaret said: “Hope we find out what you’re doing there. It’s intriguing!!” Darryl took to the comments and added: “You swapped the cobbles for the Dales ?”
Nic posted: “I have so many questions about this but I am so here for it” The fan added: “Don’t tease me like this oh my goodness.” Amelia commented: “I feel a cross over coming”
The two shows have revealed they have started netball teams for an inter-soap match. Daniel’s co-star, Jane Hazelgrove took to the comments and said: “If you are training with their netball team I’m going to divorce you!!!!
“IMMEDIATELY!!!” Emmerdale star Lisa Riley took to the comments and shared a series of lips emojis after the update from her fellow soap actor.
