Fans are convinced that Coronation Street legend Leanne Battersby is going to end up pregnant after a drunken one night stand with Ryan Connor – but it’s not what it seems

Coronation Street fans are speculating that Leanne Battersby, played by Jane Danson, might be pregnant, but they believe Ryan Connor is not the father. Leanne has been a fixture on the cobbles since 1997, arriving with the rest of the Battersby family, including her sister Toyah (Georgia Taylor).

Over the years, she has been involved in numerous major storylines, from shocking affairs and sex work to drug abuse. However, the past year has been particularly challenging for Leanne. She was drawn into a cult, The Institute, led by Rowan (Emrhys Cooper), and was heartbroken when she discovered that her sister Toyah had slept with her then-fiancé Nick (Ben Price).

Although Toyah and Nick ended their relationship when the truth was revealed, they secretly rekindled their romance a few months later. When Leanne found out, she sought revenge by framing Nick and Toyah for theft.

She’s had a difficult few weeks

However, her plan backfired, leading to her arrest and damaging her relationship with Nick’s son Sam (Jude Riordan), reports Plymouth Live. Since then, Leanne has been spiralling, clearly struggling with loneliness as Toyah and Nick move on as a couple.

This week, however, the plot took a dramatic turn when a drunken Leanne made advances towards Ronnie Bailey (Vinta Morgan).

Leanne slept with Ryan this week

Ronnie quickly dismissed her, but Leanne shifted her focus to Ryan Connor, portrayed by Ryan Prescott. Tensions flared in the episode aired on Friday, January 24, culminating in a revelation that Leanne and Ryan had been intimate.

Now, Corrie enthusiasts are buzzing with speculation that Leanne could be expecting a baby. However, in a possible twist that could rock the cobbles, fans aren’t pointing fingers at Ryan as the potential dad.

Speculation is rife that it could either be Nick or Steve McDonald, especially since Leanne is set to rekindle her relationship with one of them soon. Coronation Street’s Facebook fan page has been abuzz with theories, with one fan positing, “Leanne pregnancy looming then,” Another confidently asserted, “100% calling it.”

The debate over who the father could be continued with another fan guessing, “Nick the father then? ” While considering another possibility, someone thought Steve might be the dad saying, “Hear me out but it could be Steve’s? Remember she stopped the night at his recently ‘on the sofa’.” To which another viewer realised, “I forgot about that!”
