Coronation Street fans are now convinced a character who left the ITV soap months ago is the real killer of Joel Deering, after their sudden return ahead of the reveal
Coronation Street fans have switched their theories on who killed Joel Deering, ahead of the reveal this coming Friday.
Just days until we found out the grim truth, a new suspect has been thrown into the mix. They have not been named as a suspect by Corrie, but fans are convinced their sudden return means they are the killer.
A character featured in scenes on Monday for the first time in months, amid Joel’s murder investigation. Now some fans are sure it means she could be the killer with more clues possibly yet to be revealed.
Max Turner’s ex-girlfriend Sabrina featured in scenes with Joel earlier this year, alongside her pal Betsy Swain. But after her split from Max amid Lauren being missing, she left the show.
Sabrina hasn’t been seen for a while now, but she suddenly appeared on the show again this week. Fans were sure she was acting strangely too, like she had something to hide as she visited Lauren and her baby son Frankie.
But will we get a flashback that confirms Sabrina is a suspect, amid the actress playing her confirming her final episode? Fans certainly think so, believing she killed Joel.
Taking to X after Monday’s episode aired, one fan posted: “It’s Sabrina… it’s been a while since we’ve seen her.” Another agreed: “Sabrina might have killed Joel,” as a third fan added: “Is Sabrina the killer?”
A further comment read: “Well that’s suspicious! But it was still clearly Sabrina.” A fifth viewer posted: “I can’t focus. It was clearly Sabrina who did it.”
The comments kept on coming with one more reading: “Sabrina shows up randomly in one episode IN THE WEEK they announce Joel’s killer? Yeah that’s not suspicious at all,” as another said: “Now just waiting for Sabrina ’s flashback.”
It comes off the back of Lauren and Max both being named suspects in the latest episode. The soap showed their flashback which proved they were out in the dark of night the day Joel was killed, with them rumbled by Carla Connor.
This seemed to rule Carla out as Joel’s killer as her flashback was explained. But what were Max and Lauren doing, with Carla asking why they had what looked like a suitcase?
Viewers will finally find out who killed Joel and how he died on Friday. Flashbacks will play in full before we see who dealt the fatal blow and killed him.
Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and ITV X.
