Coronation Street has introduced a new character, Brody, as Dylan Wilson was sentenced to six months in STC
Coronation Street has welcomed a fresh face, Brody, to the popular ITV soap. Just last week, Dylan Wilson, portrayed by Liam McCheyne, was sentenced in court for his role in the heartbreaking death of Mason Radcliffe.
The young lad found himself in court after his knife was used by Mason’s wicked brothers to kill Mason last month, a scene that left audiences devastated.
After an emotional plea from Dylan, explaining that he only intended to scare Mason’s brothers with the knife, the judge suggested charging him with the more serious crime of making threats with a knife, as his heartfelt appeal backfired.
After much deliberation, the judge handed down a six-month sentence in a Secure Training Centre (STC) for Dylan, reduced from nine months due to his guilty plea. Now in the STC, Dylan has made a new friend in fellow offender, Brody.
In future episodes, Brody advises Dylan to keep quiet about his former neighbour, teacher Daniel Osbourne. Later in the week, when a group of lads give Dylan a hard time, Brody intervenes, sending them packing and telling Dylan to stick with him until he finds his feet.
Brody also cautions Dylan that if he wants to steer clear of trouble, he needs to stop trying to impress the teacher. Later on, Brody encourages Dylan to stop hanging around the STC and join him in sorting parcels for work, reports Leicestershire Live.
Soap fans on Twitter, now X, are buzzing as they spot actor Ryan Mulvey, known for his role as JJ Osborne on Hollyoaks, now behind bars in Coronation Street. The actor, who recently exited Hollyoaks, has left viewers doing a double-take with his soap switch-up.
One fan tweeted: “JJ ended #hollyoaks in jail and starting #corrie in jail”, while another shared: “It’s the guy from Hollyoaks in prison with Dylan! #Corrie”. Some are even speculating about a possible crossover, with comments like: “JJ from #Hollyoaks is in the jail with him! Is this a #Corrie and Hollyoaks crossover?” and “Was that JJ from hollyoaks? ? ? ? #corrie.”
