ITV Coronation Street fans baffled after Flanagan family update

Bella and Will Flanagan play the role of cousins on the ITV soap

Bella and Will Flanagan have been supported by friends and family as they celebrate a big occasion. The Coronation Street actors celebrated their 14th birthday yesterday (Sunday).

Chris and Rachel Flanagan are the proud parents to the soap stars and their other famous sister Amelia, she plays the role of April Windsor in Emmerdale. Fans are treated to snippets of their happy family life on social media, which is ran by Chris and Rachel. The latest post shows Bella and Will with their arms around each other smiling to the camera.

The proud parents sent a special message to their children, saying: “Happiest of 14th birthdays to our beautiful twins Will and Bella. Thankyou for always being the best of friends and always making us so proud, Have the best day Love you both.” Co-stars were among the replies, wishing the two a happy birthday.

Charlie Wrenshall, who plays Liam Connor on the ITV soap responded: “Happy Birthday” and a confetti emoji. Kirk Sutherland star, Andy Whyment also wished the twins a happy Birthday. Betsy Swain actress, Sydney Martin also sent well wishes.

Some were in disbelief about the age of the famous twins. Michelle Hardwick, renowned for her role on the Cobbles as Vanessa Woodfield was baffled, writing: “How are they 14?!?! Happy birthday both of you.” A fan agreed by responding “Happy birthday can’t believe your 14 already hope u both have an amazing day x”

Other messages of support were “Happy 14th Birthday Bella and Will. You must be so so proud of your three superstars” and “Happy birthday to both of you. Enjoy your special day.”

The acting family have been praised regularly for their performances and the siblings have made quite the impression on screen. At the 2022 Inside Soap Awards, both Amelia and Bella found themselves competing for the Best Young Performer award. The award was won by Isabella who took home the award.

Amelia Flanagan has previously opened up to Inside Soap about her household’s playful rivalry, admitting that while she’s firmly “Team Emmerdale”, her siblings cheer for “Team Corrie”. “It’s never competitive”, she shared, highlighting the supportive atmosphere when they practice lines together.

She said: “I’ve run lines with Bella where she’s played Hope and I’ve pretended to be a character from Coronation Street, and she’s done the same with me, so it’s fun!”
