Sophie Webster hasn’t been seen in Weatherfield for six years and she made contact with her dad Kevin Webster during the latest episode of Coronation Street
Coronation Street fans have been teased with the possibility of Sophie Webster making a comeback to the cobbles. In an emotional plot twist, Kevin Webster, played by Michael Le Vell, is grappling with a testicular cancer diagnosis, which has left Weatherfield residents and viewers alike devastated for him.
Wednesday’s (February 12) episode, ready to stream on ITVX, delivered a scene where Kevin received a phone call from Sophie, his daughter, who has been off-screen from the soap for nearly six years. Although absent, Sophie’s presence was felt when Kevin took the call away from the camera immediately after updating her about his doctor’s appointment.
Brooke Vincent, who portrayed Sophie and left the ITV soap in October 2019 just before becoming a mum, has left the door ajar for a potential return.
Since departing in a taxi, Brooke welcomed her first child, Mexx, also born in October 2019, followed by her second son, Monroe, in May 2021, whom she shares with professional footballer Kean Bryan.

Brooke, when contemplating her return to Corrie, previously shared: “I’m just being a mum and getting myself back and trying to get us into a routine and focusing on them.”
Emphasising family priorities, she added, “It’s kind of a decision that we made as a family and it’s just nice to have that special time with them without having major distractions.”, reports Lancs Live.

“Corrie was my home – it still is my home – and I feel like I’ve just gone off to university to do my little thing for a while! I never wanted to leave because I panic about saying goodbye.”
“It’s been a massive part of my life and the people that I worked with are like a family.
“So although I’m not [talking about] a comeback, I don’t want them to ring and say: ‘We’re killing you off’ either. That would be devastating!”.
Coronation Street is on ITV at 8pm Monday, Wednesday and Friday and available to stream from 7am on ITVX
