Coronation Street star Alan Halsall was reunited with a fellow co-star after a month away from the UK for I’m A Celeb, now he’s back and is ready for Christmas too
I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! star Alan Halsall is back home from his stint in the jungle and is back in the Christmas spirit. Over the weekend Alan welcomed his fellow Coronation Street co-star Andy Whyment into his home where he showed off his Christmas decorations.
Alan and Andy, who are both long-running cast members of Coronation Street, took a picture together in Alan’s home in front of a huge Christmas tree. The pair posed for the snap with Andy placing a supportive arm around Alan’s shoulder. Andy captioned the photo: “Reunited with @alanhalsall” along with a love heart, and friends of the duo took to the comments thrilled to see the pair together.
Fellow Coronation Street star Colson Smith, who plays Craig Tinker, wrote: “You should have both been in your jungle outfits ha!” referencing Alan’s recent appearance on I’m A Celeb, and Andy’s in 2019.
Former Corrie actress Catherine Tyldesley, who played Eva Price, added: “Jungle legends” along with three flame emojis. Jane Danson, who plays Leanne Battersby, simply added four heart emojis. And footballer Jack Grealish comments with three applauding hands.
Other fans commented on the post too with one writing: “Love this ..2 of my fav ever jungle celebrities!!! bacardi & coke & pint of Guinness lads?” Another said: “Aw well done Al. You done a great job xxx”.
Andy wasn’t the only person Alan had a reunion with, after his lengthy stay in the jungle, the actor was thrilled to see his daughter again. Alan shares 11 year old Sienna with his ex-wife Lucy-Jo Hudson.
During a heartfelt Instagram Q&A session, Alan shared how he felt it was “impossible put into words” about the excitement to see Sienna once again. Having a close bond with Sienna, the challenge of being away hit hard.
Alan revealed to his I’m A Celeb campmates the conversations about his participation, acknowledging the difficulty his daughter had with the idea: “That’s going to be really difficult. She has found the idea of me going difficult. It is only in the last two weeks or so that she has come around to the idea.”
Alan was eliminated from the competition in seventh place. After his exit, Alan opened up about receiving special treatment from the producers, details that didn’t quite make the show’s edit. As a devout vegetarian, the soap star had a different dining experience to his campmates. In an Instagram Q&A one fan asked the star: “Did you give up being veggie whilst in the jungle?”
Alan responded: “No they send a veggie equivalent. Generally something very bland, plain tofu… etc.”
