Coronation Street legend Gail Platt is set to walk down the aisle once again ahead of her exit at the end of the year
WARNING: This article contains spoilers for Coronation Street.
Coronation Street’s Gail Platt has fallen in love with a familiar face but how many times has the iconic resident of the cobbles been married?
Jesse Chadwick (played by John Thomson) unexpectedly returned to the ITV soap last month when it came out that he had a romantic fling with none other than Gail Platt (Helen Worth) during her time in Thailand.
Since making a comeback, Gail and Jesse have decided to give a relationship a proper go and after suffering a cardiac arrest, she wanted to go to the next level and proposed to him, an offer he delightfully accepted.
And with yet another Platt wedding on the cards, fans are curious to know exactly how many times Gail has said I do.
How many times has Gail Platt been married in Coronation Street?
Coronation Street’s Gail, who has been living on the street for 50 years, has been married a whopping six times, tying the knot with one of her grooms more than once.
Here’s a rundown of all of Gail’s marriages and what happened to her other halves.
Brian Tilsley
Gail’s first husband was Brian Tilsley (Christopher Quinten), Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) and Sarah Louise Platt’s (Tina O’Brien) dad, who she was married to from 1979 to 1988.

They argued a lot about money over the years and when their relationship had soured, Gail had an affair with Ian Latimer (Michael Loney) resulting in their divorce.
Gail and Brian did get married for a second time after Sarah was born but in 1989, he was fatally stabbed outside a nightclub.
Martin Platt

Husband number two was Martin Platt (Sean Wilson) who may have been 10 years her junior but that didn’t stop them falling in love and getting married in 1990.
For 10 years, they resided in No.8 together with the children Nick, Sarah and his biological son David Platt (Jack P Shepherd).
That was until he and Gail divorced in 2000 following his affair with Rebecca Hopkins (Jill Halfpenny).
Richard Hillman

Probably the most memorable of Gail’s husband was husband number three, Richard Hillman (Brian Capron).
They got hitched in 2002 but within a year of their marriage, Richard confessed to murdering his ex-wife and their neighbour Maxine Peacock (Tracy Shaw).
Richard then tried to drown himself as well as Gail and the children by driving into the canal but unfortunately for him, he was the only one not to survive.
Joe McIntyre

It was in 2010 that Gail wedded kitchen fitter Joe McIntyre (Reece Dinsdale), who was the dad of Tina McIntyre, played by actress Michelle Keegan.
Sadly, he was troubled with debt and tried to fake his own death which resulted in Gail being arrested for murder.
Eventually, she was found not guilty after it was discovered he was alive but Joe later killed himself.
Michael Rodwell

Gail did seem to find her happily ever after with Michael Rodwell (Les Dennis) in 2015 but this also ended in disaster.
They had only been married for a year before he died of a heart attack thanks to serial killer Pat Phelan (Connor McIntyre).
And now with Gail ready to get married yet again, will it really be seventh time lucky?
Coronation Street is available to watch on ITV and ITVX.
