Leah reaches out for help.
Home and Away spoilers follow for UK viewers.
Home and Away sets up Roo Stewart’s return scenes on UK screens next week.
Roo agrees to head back to Summer Bay earlier than planned after learning that her father Alf isn’t his usual self.
The long-standing character has been absent from Channel 5 episodes for several months, after departing for a break mid-way through last year.
Roo temporarily said her goodbyes to Summer Bay to join her nephew Ryder Jackson on a round-the-world cruise.
This meant that Roo didn’t feature in Alf’s recent health scare storyline, which saw him get rushed to hospital with agonising chest pains.
Alf nearly died at the Northern Districts Hospital after struggling doctor Bree Cameron hesitated and caused a dangerous delay with his treatment.
Next week’s Channel 5 episodes see Alf seek answers from Bree by quizzing her on exactly what happened.
Although Alf appreciates Bree’s honest responses to his questions, his dark mood doesn’t improve in the days that follow. Alf seems to have been severely affected by how close he came to death.
When Leah Patterson notices that Alf is still struggling despite his heart-to-heart with Bree, she decides to call Alf’s wife Martha for a chat. Alf has recently returned from a trip to see Martha in Merimbula, so Leah hopes that she’ll know what’s going on.
Later, Leah’s phone conversation with Martha confirms all of her worst fears that something isn’t right with Alf.
All further attempts to make progress with Alf fail, so Leah makes a new plan and calls Roo next – urging her to come home.
How will Roo react when she returns to the Bay and finds out everything that went on with Alf and Bree in her absence?
Home and Away airs these scenes on Friday, January 31 on Channel 5.
