Home and Away fans are divided over whether they want a happy ending for Harper and her baby.
Home and Away is back on our screens very, very soon and the popular Aussie soap has dropped a new teaser as to what fans can expect from the 2025 season.
As dramatic as always, the teaser picks up right where we left off, showing a pregnant Harper going into life-saving surgery, Cash waking up covered in blood, and on a lighter note, Mali and Abigail dodging questions from Mac after the two shared a romantic moment towards the end of last season.
“Will Harper and her baby make it?” the show teased in the new promo, as Harper is seen telling Doctor Levi to save her baby first if anything happens to them during the surgery. Levi is then shown saying “It’s not working” before another doctor (or nurse) says, “She might die.”
It’s giving Grey’s Anatomy!
Home and Away fans divided over Harper storyline
Home and Away fans are naturally desperate for the series to return to see what the hell happens.
“They better make it and Harper stays with Tane,” one fan begged. “13th January!!!! Hurry up!! There’s nothing to watch!” another fan demanded.
“She better bloody live we need a good romance and a happy family on this show or I’m not watching any more,” another person threatened.
However, not everyone was wishing for Harper’s speedy recovery. “Geez, can Harper just disappear. She’s so bloody annoying,” one person ranted. “I mute her when she’s speaking,” another commented.
“Her and Tane are the most awkward couple,” another added, with someone else agreeing. “They just don’t work.”
Leaked photos tease fate of Harper and Tane’s baby
Some sneaky fans spotted Harper (Jessica Redmayne) and Tane (Ethan Browne) filming 2025 scenes, and in good news, they’re looking very happy and alive, with Harper being spotted with a pram.
One behind-the-scenes photo even shows the pair smiling at what I would take an astute guess is a real-life baby in the pram, and fans are even predicting it could be a baby girl, saying they could spot a bow.
Though the above is all good news, fans are now concerned that now the baby is here, it could spell the end for Tane and Harper’s time on the show — or at least, for one of them.
As all good Home and Away fans know, once any baby is brought on board, most of the parents go on to go live a better life somewhere — to be fair, given Summer Bay is overrun by criminals, gangs, love triangles, near-death accidents, and the sporadic cult movement, it probably makes sense.
The last couple to have a baby on the show were Ziggy and Dean in early 2023 and they swiftly moved away, though will be back for a special episode arc early next year.
Fans are now speculating Tane and Harper may do the same, but they’re hoping the baby storyline will continue on the show as Summer Bay seems to have no children anymore. “Everyone that gets pregnant or has a baby on the show leaves not long after,” one fan pointed out.
“Say goodbye to Harper and Tane. They never keep babies on the show,” one person commented in a Facebook fan group, however an admin of the group was holding out hope. “Harper still has nearly two years contract left only way she will leave if they break it,” they pointed out. “I [think] when her contract is up the baby will be about nearly two that is when they leave.
