“Did a thing….”
Hollyoaks star Stephanie Waring has bid farewell to Cindy Cunningham’s iconic bob, as she leaves her long-standing role on the soap.
Waring, who has played Cindy for 28 years, revealed her hair transformation on Instagram. “Did a thing….” she captioned the post.
The video showed a close-up shot of the actor, who grinned cheekily as her much shorter hair came into the view. “Kinda did a thing today,” she smiled, winking at the camera. “Just ’cause I could.”
Fans were stunned by the actor’s new look, flooding the comments section with compliments.
“Wow I absolutely LOVE this, really suits you, you look amazing,” said one. “You have a beautiful face to carry that gorgeous haircut off,” wrote another.
Hollyoaks’ Jessica Fox, who plays Nancy Osborne, also chimed in, writing: “I LOVE IT.”
Waring’s exit was announced back in April, amid the soap’s big revamp news. The actor revealed she would not be returning for Hollyoaks’ new era, which will feature a limited cast and a reduced number of weekly episodes.
Though Cindy is still currently on our screens, Waring was able to undergo the dramatic hair transformation as she has already filmed her final scenes.
“It’s giving Hollyoaks who? Cindy where?” joked one fan, in reference to her upcoming exit.
They later added: “@stephwaring actually dreading the day she actually leaves my screen, not ready for that!! You look fabulous though.”
Hollyoaks streams first online via Channel 4 each weekday at 7.30pm. Episodes then air on E4 the following day, before getting their YouTube premiere a week after that.
