Hollyoaks star Anna Passey “shocked” over Sienna’s dad twist

“It’s a brilliant twist.”

Hollyoaks star Anna Passey has revealed she was “shocked” over her character Sienna Blake’s dad twist.

Jeremy Sheffield recently returned to the village as Patrick Blake’s brother Jeremy, aka Jez, alongside Loose Women’s Sherrie Hewson as his mother Martha.

Sienna was left stunned when she thought her evil father was back from the dead, only to learn that Patrick had a long-lost twin.

Recent scenes saw Martha hold Jeremy captive in his potting shed, though it was later revealed that she had been trying to protect Sienna and her half-sister Dilly from Jeremy.

After putting his mum in a nursing home and claiming she had dementia, Jeremy revealed he plans to kill Patrick’s daughters.

In scenes that will air next week, Jeremy refuses to listen to his mother and leaves her incapacitated as he looks ahead to his sinister plans.

Not going down without a fight, Martha escapes from the nursing home and arrives at Sienna’s house. Martha then shockingly reveals that Sienna is Jeremy’s daughter, not Patrick’s.

Speaking to Inside Soap, Passey explained that she thought the writers were “joking” when she learnt about Sienna’s real father, adding: “I was definitely shocked.”

“There’s so much legacy with it being Patrick, but it’s a brilliant twist.”

The actor also explained that Sienna doesn’t believe Martha after “lots of incidents” where her grandmother made confusing statements, which Sienna puts down to her “illness”.

Passey revealed how Sienna might react if Jeremy turns out to be her dad, saying: “It would be such a mixed bag of emotions. On the one hand, she gets to have a father, and he’s lovely!

“But if this was allowed to happen, why did it, and how did she end up with the childhood she had when it could’ve been so different? How did it possibly come to pass that Sienna got given to the wrong Blake? So much damage came with that. There would be lots of questions!”

Hollyoaks streams first online via Channel 4 each weekday at 7.30pm. Episodes then air on E4 the following day, before getting their YouTube premiere a week after that.
